COMPARISON WITH “LIKE, THE SAME AS, DIFFERENT FROM So sánh với “like”, “the same as” và “different from” 1/- Like (prep) + n/pron: giống như Ex: You should have done it like this. 2/- As (conj) + a clause: giống như Ex: You should have done it as I showed you. 3/- As (prep) + n: khi “as” là giới từ thì sau nó cũng là một danh từ. Trong trường hợp này nó dùng để diễn tả ý nghĩa có thật trong khi “like” diễn tả ý nghĩa không thật. Ex: During the war this hotel was used as a hospital. Everyone is ill at home. Our house is like a hospital. 4/- S + V + (not) the same + (n) + as + n/pron: (không) giống như Ex: My house is not the same as your house/yours Your pen is the same as mine. 5/- Different from: khác với S + be + different from Poss adj + n Noun phrase Poss pron Clause Notes: – Poss adj: tính từ sở hữu – Noun phrase: cụm danh từ – Poss pron: đại từ sở hữu – Clause: mệnh đề Ex: Your house is different from my house/mine
