Unit 13: Theater and movies (continued) Period 5– Writing Date: ____/____/2011 Class: 10A14 – K65 School: Luong Ngoc Quyen senior high school Coach: Tran Thi Tuat Trainee: Bui Thi Thu Huong I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students are able to know the order of a summary writing and write a short summary about content of a movie. II. Skills: - Summarizing the content of a movie base on given information. III. Teaching aids: - Board, chalk, textbook. IV. Procedure: 1 Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 2’ - Greeting. - Introduce attending teacher. - Greeting. - Clap their hands A. Warm-up: - T leads Ss to the game: Before starting lesson we will play a small game name Hangman - T gives the rule: We work in group; the whole class will be divided into 2 groups. Your task is finding letters in the word, one by one. For example, if my given word is THANK, I say: “this word has 5 letters and it is a verb”. If you think this word contains letter A so say “A” and I will talk:” you are right!” The other says the word contains letter B but this word does not, so I say: “you are wrong” and draw here like that (drawing hanging man shape). If you guess wrongly for six times, a hanging-man will be shaped and you lose the game. The winner is the group which can speak out the whole word correctly and the fastest. Any questions? If not, let’s play the game. - T controls the game. ( 2 given words are JONAS BROTHERS and KATE WINSLET) - After finishing game, T checks the result and announces the winner. - Listen to the game’s rule. - Play the game. - Congratulate the winner. 10 ’ B. Lesson: 1. Pre-writing: Task a: Talking about the movie you love the most: - T asks Ss to work in pairs to talk about the movie they love the most. - T suggests Ss to use given handout of the previous lesson. - T calls some Ss to make conversation in front of the class. - T gives new words that supported to the lesson and its meaning. - T writes new words on the board.
