It is designed to detect, and signal by an external light, the passage of a fault current (zero-phase sequence, and/or short circuit) on underground MV grid lines. DAX can as well, through modem, communicate with a SCAD sytem. When the current exceeds a preset threshold, the DAX stores the fault and signals the fault thanks to a flashing light positioned on the outside of the substation. It includes all basic cubicles used to design MV modular switch- boards from 7.2kV up to 24kV for : > Public distribution substations, > Delivery substations with low voltage metering, > Delivery substations with high voltage metering, > Substations in industry or tertiary internal networks. Furthermore, in cubicles with load-break switches, the position of this earthing switch can be seen unambiguously from the front of the cubicle through an inspection window in the cable compartment access door. Cubicles in the FLUOKIT M+ range all have functional mechanical inter- locks required by the IEC standard: > Interlock between the breaking or isolating device and the earthing switch. > Interlock between the earthing switch and the cable compartment access door. > Interlock between the main disconnector and the circuit breaker for cubicles with circuit breaker (key locking). > Interlock holding the load-break switch in the open position when the cable compartment access door is removed.
