Pre- writing (10’) Activity 1: Teaching new words again - use pictures and explanations to present some new words - Read the words one by one and ask Sts to repeat. - highly (adv) : cao - appreciated (adj): cam kich, danh gia cao - affectionately (adv) : chan thanh - look forward to : - invite (v) : moi - invitation (n) : loi moi Chalk and board 3. while- writing (20’) writing letters - put Ss into pairs A, B, and C. - Tell pairs A to write a letter of invitation based on the situation given in Task c, p42 ( you may want to give them a certain place and time to make it consistent in all letters, e.g. “ on Saturday next week, at your house, at 7 pm.” - Tell pairs B to write a letter of reply, accepting the invitation - Tell pairs C to write a letter of reply, refusing the invitation. - go around to control and give help if necessary. - when they have finished, collect Ss’ writing for correcting later.
