The date of teaching: March 31 st , 2009 Unit 12: Recreation Writing I. Aim: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to describe a camping holiday. II. Time: 45 minutes III. Teaching aids: Textbook, pictures, handouts, etc VI. Methods: Integrated, Communicative approach. VII. Procedure Time Content Activities A. Class stabilization B. Warm-up: Name things that you need for a camping holiday. C. New lesson 1. Before you write:  Activity 1 : Matching Last weekend, class 11A2 went to Bavi for a camping holiday. Match activities with the correct pictures. (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) - T calls some S to answers in turn. - T sticks all the pictures on the board. - Ss look at the pictures and can choose any picture they like to answer. -T corrects the mistakes if necessary and sticks Ss’ answers on the board below the suitable pictures. Suggested answers: Picture a-2: the bus leaving school. Picture b-3: putting up the umbrella tent. Picture c-4: watching wildlife in the forest. Picture d-6: swimming in the lake Picture e-9: fishing Picture f-5: cooking food over an open fire Picture g-1: singing and dancing around the camp fire Picture h-7 : playing a quiz game Picture i-8: Leaving campsite 2. While you write:  Activity 1: Answer the following questions: 1. When did the students in class 11A2 go camping? 2. Where did they go? 3. What time did the bus leave school? 4. What did they do after putting up the umbrella tent? 5. What did they do around the camp fire? 6. What time did they leave the campsite? Suggested answers: 1. They went camping last weekend. 2. In Bavi 3. The bus left their school at 5 a.m 4. After putting up the umbrella tent, they watched wildlife in the forest. Some went fishing and swimming in the lake. After that they cooked food over an open fire. 5. They sang and danced around the camp fire and played a quiz game. 6. They left the campsite at 4 p.m the next day.  Activity 2: Complete the passage below by filling in the blanks with suitable phrases: Last weekend we all ………………. for a camping holiday. We ……………… at 4.30 because the bus ………………….5 a.m. The first thing we did at the campsite was……………………. Next - T gives handouts to Ss. - Ss read the question carefully and do the activity in pairs. - T goes round to help Ss when necessary. -T calls some Ss to go to the board and write down their answers. - T corrects the mistakes if necessary. - Ss copy the answers on their notebooks. - T gives handouts to Ss - Ss do the activity base on activity 1 and 2. -T goes round to help Ss we………………………………………. We went to school at 4.30 because the bus would leave at 5 a.m. The first thing we did at the campsite was putting up the umbrella tent. Next we went around watching wildlife in the forest. Some went fishing and swimming in the lake. Then we went back to our tents and prepared lunch. We cooked food over an open fire. After having lunch, we took a rest. In the evening, we sang and danced around the camp fire and also played quiz game there. We left the campsite at 4 p.m the next day. Although all of us were tired, we had a good time to live together. 3. After you write: The stress Test ( See the appendix) D. Homework: - Write a paragraph in bout 70 words to describe a camping holiday that you have ever attended. - Prepare for Language Focus when necessary - T sticks the flipchart on the board and writes down the answers. - Ss look at the board to have their self- correction. - T gives the handouts with complete passage to Ss. - T asks Ss to stick the handout on their notebooks. - T gives the handouts with the test to Ss. - Ss read the handouts carefully and do them as requested. -T asks some Ss to read out the final scores in front of the class. - Ss copy the homework on their notebook and do them at home. There may be one or two ways in which you can change your life that it is less stressful, but your lifestyle is mainly good. You are quite stressed and probably get moody sometimes too. You should think about changing your lifestyle in some ways. Take time to relax and learn to manage your moods better than you do now. You are stressed out. Your lifestyle is not well-balanced. You really should think about changing it so that it is less stressful and more relax. Get more exercise and sleep.
