WARMER: Board Race (three teams) Objects in a living-room Objects in a kitchen Prepositions of position an armchair, a sink, in, * Each S of the team takes turn, writes the words on the board. PRE WRITING: Listen and Draw: * T reads out the description of Hoa’s room. * Ss close their books, draw a picture on a small piece of paper. * Ss compare with a partner’s. * Ss open their books, check in front of class and compare their pictures with the one from the book. * T helps Ss to review: “There is / are ” and prepositions of position such as: “on / to the left / right of, opposite, in the middle of, beside, on, above, near, next to” by asking them questions for quick answers. E.g: Is there a ? / Are there ? How many are there? Is on the right / left (side) of the room? Where is ? WHILE WRITING: * T changes the topic from Hoa’s bedroom to Hoa’s kitchen. * Ss look at the picture on page 33. * In pairs, Ss describe Hoa’s kitchen. * T asks Ss to read the prompts provided. * T gives Ss an example. E.g: This is Hoa’s kitchen. There is a refrigerator in the right corner of the room. * Ss write the rest. * T gets feedback and corrects. Answer key: This is Hoa’s kitchen. There is a refrigerator in the right corner of the room. Next to the refrigerator is the stove and oven. On the other side of the oven, there is a sink and next to the sink is a towel rack. The dish rack is / stands on the counter, to / on the right (side) of the window and beneath / under the shelves. On the shelves and on the counter beneath the window, there are jars of sugar, flour and tea. In the middle of the kitchen, there are a table and four chairs. The lighting fixture is above the table, and directly beneath the lighting fixture is a vase of flowers. POST WRITING: * In pairs, Ss describe each other their imaginary bedroom or their living-room.
