1 History of Chanh Nghia Secondary school:
Chanh Nghia Secondary School is currently located in Quarter 9, ChanhNghia Ward, Thu Dau Mot Town, Binh Duong Province, and bounded by PhuTho Ward, Phu Hoa Ward and Saigon River The school was established afterthe liberation in 1976, precursor of Chanh Nghia Secondary school is aprimary - secondary school with 8 classrooms In the early 1980s, the schoolwas split into a primary school and a secondary school seperately Thissecondary school once was at Lo Chen Three-way crossroads where is verynoisy for teachers and students to teach and learn because of too much trafficdensity, and then the school was moved to Quarter 7

to the tape or read one time before reading in chorus; the teacher should explain some phrases in lesson like "do relieve" and "work", e.g "cold cures" as noun mean? "Work" is a verb, what is the meaning? In this lesson the "work" means something else is

2.1.2 The process of teaching:
As a child, I wanted to become a teacher I thought this job was very interestingand I liked to be called “Ms Ngoc” Along with my English major at Van HienUniversity, I have also a teaching certificate I love to become an English teacher butstill hesitate over whether to be able to carry out my desire After much heart-searching, I decided to apply for the position of teacher at Chanh Nghia secondaryschool to have an opportunity to teach English and to contact with educationalenvironment My dream came true when I was accepted to be an intern at the schoolduring a period of five weeks from 06-02-2012 to 12-03-2012 Four days before Feb
6th at 8: 35 am, I was meeting Headmaster Vo Van Tho, Ms Tran Ngoc Ha and Ms.Nguyen Thuy Vuong who were going to help me with the tasks of subject and headteacher Headmaster and two teachers helped me with all their hearts by clearing up
my troubles that I have encountered Besides, I have known that I was going to workwith some students of Thu Dau Mot University and I thought I would learn more fromthem Then, I was visited around the campus with Ms Vuong My first impression ofthis school was that all students have bowed to any teacher very politely when theymeet And this is the first time I have heard "Hello, teacher!" that was so cute I feltvery happy The second impression was that all of subject rooms have been well-equipped
Trang 26The school had some other plans implemented in the week of 06-02-2012, soFeb 13th was the day I officially became a pedagogic intern at Chanh Nghia Secondaryschool.
The first teaching day (23/02/2012) made me very nervous although I carefully prepared the lesson plan of Unit 11: KEEP FIT, STAY HEALTHY (Lesson 5: B4
What was wrong with you?) and I was afraid that I didn’t have enough time to teach
this lesson I taught at the 4 th period in class 7A3, the content of lecture in that day
was about four symptoms of the cold, taking care of the health and the simple pasttense Because of learning from the experience of the previous class observations, I'veprepared some new words written on A3 paper to paste on the blackboard but it spent
a lot of time 7A3 is the class which has lots of the hardest and best students, theyalways prepare lessons at home, thus, their ability to acquire knowledge is good
I got some comments from Ms Ha such as the content of lesson was accurateand scientific, using English commands well, having practical connection, studentswere active but time allocation wasn’t reasonable I got 9 marks and distinction Ilearned from some following experience: teaching speed should be faster; ask furtherquestions to check for students’ understanding and then ask the questions in thetextbooks; give the meaning of words like "fever, runny nose, coughing, sneezing,"then explain the word "Symptom" because it is an abstract, difficult to explain, it may
be suggested to students as follows "four symptoms of the common cold are a slightfever, a runny nose, coughing, sneezing So what does "Symptom" mean?
(See Appendix 1)
Each week I taught one class and so did other interns, thus, we also knew the
learning situation of those classes very clearly On Feb 24 th , I continued to teach class 7A3 at the 2 nd period in an audio-visual room I prepared a courseware to teach It is
difficult to write a courseware because the content must be ensured, at the same timeboth games and pictures must be educational and lively for children to acquireknowledge better First I divided the class into 2 teams, each team would go to theboard, write down the words related to fruits and food within 3 minutes They wrotethe words on the board in turn After time was up, I corrected their mistakes and some
Trang 27words made me start because I did not remember the meaning of those words I askedthem what those words meant, at that time I thought if they answered definitely, theword was marked Two teams had the same mark, so they received the same gifts
from me After learning Unit 12: LET'S EAT (Lesson 1: A1-A2 What shall we
eat?), they could name some fruits, use new words and phrases to say what they like
and offer or suggest politely
I got some comments from Ms Ha as follows: introduce the new lesson well;resolve the pedagogic situation cleverly; enthusiastic students; good courseware;suitable teaching method; time allocation was not reasonable; the lessons need morerealities I was 9 points and distinction I learned from experience: let students correctthe wrong sentences in the True-False part; teacher should prepare some knowledgeoutside the textbook to provide students
(See Appendix 3)
On Feb 28 th , I was assigned to teach Unit 12 LET'S EAT (Lesson 3: B1 Our food) in class 7A1 at the 2 nd period The lesson was about how to eat food to avoid
getting sick
Trang 28The first courseware was praised, from then on I always used that teachingmethod, partly I wanted students to be comfortable in their study, and I felt more self-confident Class 7A1 is the unenthusiastic class, just about 5 students often raise theirhands and express their opinions.
I got some following comments from Ms Ha such as no the reality part; timedistribution was not flexible; ensure systematic, accurate and scientific content I was
9 points and distinction The experience I've learned are that let students listen to thetape once, teacher read the text once and then students read again to practice theirpronunciation; teach a song about 1-2 minutes in the early period to make studentsmore excited; let students connect questions with answers that fit together
Some comments from Ms Ha were that preparing lesson plan well; enough content, clarifying key point; reasonable time distribution; need to contact more realities I got9.5 points and distinction The experiences I've learned from were that it’s difficult toteach a short lesson; always give some examples to educate student
(See Appendix 7)
Trang 29Next to the task of teaching English 7, I was assigned to work as a head teacher
of class 8A4 My instructor – Ms Vuong suggested that I should organize a meetingperiod at the audio-visual room to make students comfortable because class 8A4 hasless a breach of discipline and maybe I have a lot of time to hold other activities
To prepare this meeting period in class 8A4 at the 3 rd period of Mar 2 nd , I
spent a week to find out some interesting and funny games, songs, and crosswordpuzzles but they were most closely with students The crossword puzzle was mygreatest interest and I expected positive responses from students I have createdcrossword completely with a big surprise which the key word was my name andenclosed my childhood picture
That day I came to school with a good mood because I thought this week mystudents did not any breach of discipline and I just said something quickly about the
26th week preliminary warp-up report of situation, the plan of the 27th week and theplan of Mar 26th However, when I checked the class register, I saw two students Vyand Van named in the register for eating on the sly Then, I discussed with the monitorand those students to take a strong measure that was they had to write a mistake report
Trang 30with a sign of their parents Next, I gave some gifts for students having 10 marks inthe 26th week The gifts made the students more excited and wanted more gifts
I taught them a Japanese song “Shabondama”, they sang very well in unison. When I said “Who can stand up and sing this song will receive a big gift” , suddenly, one arm raised, Thanh Dat – vice-monitor volunteered to sing, his pronunciation wasnot accurate and his cute face made the whole class laugh a lot After singing, True-false statement part provided the children with scientific knowledge and life Next wasthe crossword puzzles having 8 horizontal rows, the students answered five words, atthe same time the 4th team answered the keyword exactly with the shortest time Thelast activity was learning the Macarena dance, I intended to open the video clip, call
on some students practice in front of the class but they were still shy and asked me todance I danced bravely while wearing Ao dai, the children cheered me to the echo. From that, I felt more closely with my students
I got some comments from Ms Vuong such as creating a closed, friendly air;doing the right plan; scientific, accurate, plentiful and creative content; having a highattitude and sense of responsibility I got 9.5 marks and high distinction
I myself learned from experience : I need to supplyment scientific, life andsocial knowledge to answer the questions of students better; teacher need stricthandling of breachs to avoid the repeat offences of students
(See Appendix 9)
On Mar 5 th , I taught Unit 13 ACTIVITIES (Lesson 1: A1-A2 Sports) in class 7A4 at the 3 rd period
Trang 31This lesson was taught in grade 6, English 7 upgraded the lesson a little bit withsome new words about popular sports Class 7A4 had a positive learning attitude.
Some comments from Ms Ha were that I pronounced the words
“skateboarding” and “baseball” inexactly; some simple words should be intended forstudents to guess or to do execrise in the matching part; using good English command;the class is active; teaching too much vocabulary spent a lot of time I got 8.5 marksand distinction The experience I could learn from was learning how to pronounceexactly by listening to the tape and practicing at home before teaching
(See Appendix 12)
Class 7A2 is one of the best classes after class 7A3, students have prepared the
new lesson at home and they usually express their opinions On Mar 13 th , I taught
them Unit 13 ACTIVITIES (Lesson 3: A4 Walking is fun) at the 1 st period I
Trang 32reviewed how to use adjectives and adverbs and required them to do exercise to checktheir understanding They learned by heart all theories but it’s difficult for them to doexercise.
My score was 9.5 and I got distinction My experiences were that teacher mustknow how to see the whole class and find the best way to make students confident (See Appendix 14)
Mar 15 th is the last date which I taught, so I felt a little touched At the 3 rd period when class 7A2 entered the audio-visual room, I tried to smile and say “hello”
with all of students I taught each section carefully to help students understand Unit
13 ACTIVITIES (Lesson 4: B1-B2 Come and play) This lesson was rather difficult
to learn because they must create a dialogue about sports They also pronouncedinexactly and I tried to correct word by word Besides, students actively participated
in discussion and listened to their friend’s opinions
I got some comments from Ms Ha as follows well-prepared lecture; ensuringthe content of lesson; making students active I had 9.5 marks and distinction Theexperience I've learned from as follows the student's speaking skill are still weak, soteacher should request them to practice more or read many times the dialogue; game is
an indispensable part to make class exciting
(See Appendix 16)
Trang 332.2 Head’s plan:
2.2.1 Overview:
a> Awareness, attitudes towards educational mission in general, head work of a class in particular:
The educational mission, especially the head work plays a very important role
in taking shape of personality, virtuous character for students Head’s plan is an action
plan for the future of class, aiming at determining precisely our class where to go,what to do and how to achieve success
I recognize that soon, after being familiar with class 8A4 of Ms Nguyen ThuyVuong, I and three interns have set up specific plans to perform our work well
b> Reasons why we make a head’s plan:
Head teacher is a person who manages a class comprehensively onbehalf of the principal To work effectively, we need to make a head’s plan inadvance
Head teacher is a person who decides whether the quality of educationalactivities of the class is high or not because head teacher will orient, counsel, sharefeelings with students in time during the student's self-training process For the class, head teacher needs to understand the position, role and importance of head’s plan If
we make a good plan, we and our class will clearly identify the future direction of theclass to be achieved, propose the priorities to solve them first
c> The ability of applying the educational methods in head work of a class:
Psychologists are often called the age of secondary school-children
"transitional period", "age of crisis" Aiming at helping these groups of people workeffectively, we must have a principle of organization and a close operation regulation,
we must know how to apply the educational methods in head work of a class
* The first method I use in head work of a class is to grasp the characteristicand situation of the class To obtain the useful materials for making a head’s plan, I:
Trang 34- Learn and consider the information which relate to the head work of a classwhile listening to actual reports of the board of Chanh Nghia secondary schoolmanaging.
- Contact with the head teacher of class to hand over, exchange and learn aboutexperience
- Contact with students of the class, especially those who are class committees
2.2.2 The head’s plan:
a> Features of class 8A4:
