ABSTRACT

This thesis is conducted with three main objectives: (1) identifying and measuring the impact of supply chain collaboration components on firm performance in Vietnam, (2) identifying moderating effect of innovative capability on the relationship between the supply chain collaboration components and firm performance, (3) suggesting managerial implications to improve supply chain collaboration to achieve high firm performance of Vietnamese enterprises

After reviewing the theoretical basis and proposing a research model, this research is carried out through two main stages: preliminary research and formal research Preliminary research includes qualitative research through in-depth interviews with 5 experts at manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam and preliminary quantitative research conducted through a survey of 70 cases Data in formal quantitative study was collected through questionnaire with 241 cases After Cronbach's Alpha analysis, EFA and CFA, 9 constructs with 37 variables achieved reliability, convergent and discriminant validity Next, hypotheses was tested with the support of AMOS 20 software The results indicated that there are 6 hypotheses about the impact of supply chain collaboration components on firm performance are supported Specifically, information sharing, goal congruence, joint knowledge creation, incentive alignment, resource sharing and collaborative communication have positive effects on firm performance In which, collaborative communication has the strongest positive impact on firm performance

The study also examines the moderating effect of innovative capability on the relationship between supply chain collaboration and firm performance Through testing the impact of the interaction (by multiplying the moderator and the independent variable), the result showed that innovative capability has positive impact on the relationship between goal congruence and firm performance This suggests that the higher level of innovative capability, the higher impact of goal congruence on firm performance

Based on the results of the hypotheses testing, some managerial implications are proposed to improve supply chain collaboration for firm performance improvement

of manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam It is critical to pay attention to sharing information with strategic partners, building and maintaining mutual trust when sharing information; prioritize the common goals of the entire supply chain; promote joint activities to seek and share knowledge regularly among partners; share the benefits, costs and risks equally; share common resources such as human resources, technology, and equipment; regularly communicate via formal and informal communication and diversify different communication channels with partners; have appropriate incentives and reward mechanisms to encourage employees to actively participate in innovation activities and leverage innovative ideas from supply chain partners

Despite achieving certain results, the research still has some limitations Further researches are suggested to supplement and compare the results of this study such as conducting research in the context of the service industry, studying the relationship with downstream supply chain partners, or exploring the impact of technological capabilities on the relationship between supply chain collaboration and firm performance
