The explosion of the internet and the development speed of the 4.0 technology era confirm the role of online marketing for businesses Online marketing plays an important role for the survival and development of businesses and is gradually replacing almost the entire concept of media advertising Marketing online is atype of business marketing that cannot be ignored in the development process Due to the popularity of the internet, shopping for goods and services on e- commerce sites is becoming more and more convenient than ever Types of advertising such as marketing online are tools to help businesses get closer to potential customers and markets Consumers tend to search for information about products and services through the internet or search engines, social networks instead

of going to physical stores Finding product information on the internet will help customers save more time, and lead to customers preferring to shop online As a result, marketing online becomes more and more developed and is an effective advertising channel for businesses

Online marketing not only identifies age, gender, occupation, and regional address but also helps the business learn about the preferences, shopping habits, and specific behaviours of many customers on the market today Geographical distance

With the ever changing business environment, and harsh competition, each enterprise needs to find a proper way to keep pace with the process of international integration, constantly improving its position in the market Along with the growth of the national economy, Skyblue Production Trading Investment Joint Stock Company has achieved a lot of success in a changing and challenging environment Hoping to contribute to finding a way to retain Skyblue Production Trading Investment Joint Stock Company’s position in the future, I choose the topic of graduation thesis “Possible solutions to improve online marketing strategies at Skyblue Production Trading Investment Joint Stock Company” Garment products are exported and distributed well to achieve high sales, maintain a strong position, constantly grow and expand the market

2 Research scope

This graduation thesis is entitled “Possible solutions to improve online marketing strategies at Skyblue Production Trading Investment Joint Stock Company” In this graduation thesis, I have tried to gather information from my internship experience over the past month, advice from leaders and colleagues, and guidance from instructors

Due to the limited time, the author mainly concentrates on improving online marketing tactics to increase customer numbers at Skyblue Production Trading Investment Joint Stock Company

The graduation thesis is based on the method of direct internship, observation, collecting secondary data from the company’s reports to analyze the current situation of online marketing activities

Analyze online marketing strategy to offer solutions to promote the brand and bring the brand closer to customers From researching the theoretical basis and analyzing the effectiveness of the company’s online marketing strategy to come up with solutions to increase the effectiveness of the company’s online marketing strategy

CHAPTER 1: LITERATURE REVIEW 1.1 Theoretical basis of Marketing and Online Marketing

1.1.1 Definition of Marketing and Online Marketing

In fact, there are many definitions of marketing Up to this point, perhaps the definition of marketing Philip Kotler is still the most standard that is researched and evaluated by experts

According to Philip Kotler: “Marketing is the science and art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of target market at a profit” This

is a very concise definition that fully demonstrates the content of marketing, which

is the synthesis of all two-way exchanges between both customers and marketers to understand and meet customer needs

From the above definition, we can see that marketing is all activities of a business to identify unsatisfied needs of customers, their tastes and requirements

On that basis, the enterprise offers suitable products and services to meet and satisfy those needs and requirements to fulfill the goals of the enterprise

1.1.1.2 Definition of Online Marketing

Online marketing refers to the use of a variety of digital resources and techniques to connect with users while they are online From the company’s branded online tools such as online advertising, email marketing, and online fliers,

to the website itself Online marketing encompasses a wide range of techniques Marketing online, according to Dave Chaffey, is the management and execution of marketing activities via electronic advertising media such as the web, email, or other non-media On the other hand, Jared Reitzin, CEO of mobile Storm Inc defines marketing online as the practice of activities that promote products and services using database-driven online distribution channels to reach customers at the right time, right need, and right audience at a reasonable cost The evolution of marketing online that evolved in the 1990s and 2000s has changed the way brands

and businesses use technology to market As digital platforms are increasingly incorporated into marketing plans and daily lives, and as people use digital devices instead of visiting stores, marketing online is becoming more and more popular and effective

Online marketing is an important part of the overall marketing strategy Along with traditional marketing, online marketing serves as a vital link between users and businesses Not only that, marketing online has been a strength for most businesses and accounts for a significant amount of budget in the overall marketing strategy of the business The strong development of marketing online not only overcomes the presence of traditional marketing, but it also overcomes the previous limitations, proving outstanding advantages compared to traditional marketing in many aspects The main difference between digital marketing and traditional marketing is the means of displaying the messages that businesses bring to customers However, that does not mean traditional marketing 1s obsolete The grown up in technology as a result of technological advancements, but the concepts, principles, and objectives remain the same However, through digital marketing, interacting with the audience at the right place and at the right time has become a reality and a great accomplishment

profits Customer data, on the other hand, is the most valuable asset in the eyes of marketers Previously, marketing online activities were based on popular online channels such as SEO, social media, SEM, and email to deliver results When planning and executing, marketing online not only brings new customers but also a difference in analysing and tracking customer behaviour and preferences for customized marketing for a company’s goods and services (Pineiro-Otero & Martinez-Rolan, 2016)

1.1.2 The role and function of the Marketing Online in the business More and more people are searching for enterprise information on the Internet, which shows that the change of consumers’ habits is to access the Internet and find information for reference and inspection In Vietnam, customers still keep the habit of going to the stores to watch directly, but more and more people use the Internet, which is convenient and saves a lot of time and energy They are gradually accustomed to using search tools to find out what they want, which has become a huge potential market that all enterprises want to occupy With the rapid development of internet technology, it is the correct and effective choice for enterprises to choose the form of online marketing advertisements:

¢ Narrowing the gap: Online marketing will help to narrow the gap between buyers and sellers Customers can get product information conveniently and quickly, and partners can also discuss and exchange business on the computer network without worrying about geographical and spatial distance, time limit

® Expand marketing scope: With the vigorous development of global Intemet and information technology, online marketing is a very effective promotion tool, enabling to bring its products and services to consumers all over the country

¢ Save time: Time 1s no longer a concern for many businesses when choosing online marketing forms They can access information and trade with customers 24 hours a day

1.2 Factors affecting the effectiveness of online marketing activities There are many factors affecting marketing activities, but through the research process, I see some important factors as follows:

1.2.1, Macro environmental factors

® Economic environment: Factors such as economic policy, financial- monetary, development rate, inflation rate, tax system and tax rates, interest rates, etc govern the operations of the company Although the economy is in crisis, but inflation is controlled stably, people’s living standards are increasingly improved, people will be interested in the fields of clothing for themselves and their families

¢ Population: Hai Duong City is a city with a population of nearly 2 million people, most of the young intellectuals are a great source of potential customers of the company, bringing a lot of market share in the business field

¢ Social environment: This factor includes policies, regulations, legal institutions, remuneration regimes, procedures and regulations of the State Vietnam

is one of the most politically stable countries in the world This is considered a great advantage for domestic enterprises, attracting many foreign investors to participate

in the market Besides the political environment, the law is considered an important factor in business, the law and the State agencies have a role in regulating business activities for the following purposes:

Protecting the benefits of the public company in a competitive relationship, avoid illegal business forms

Protecting the interests of customers in objective cases when the quality of the product, price, distribution and promotion are not satisfactory Protecting customers from arbitrary and socially irresponsible business practices of companies

¢ Natural environment: Environmental pollution, climate change and other issues are objective factors, so the company always provides solutions and adaptation measures

© Technical environment: Technology always has two sides New technologies will bring new methods to reduce costs and improve quality On the other hand, when a company does not have enough strength to keep up with technology, technological progress will be a concern for the company

1.2.2 Micro environmental factors

® Internal business environment: Marketing activities are not a separate activity in the business On the contrary, it is governed by other forces and factors in the enterprise Marketing strategy is a part of corporate strategy, etc Therefore, marketing activities are under the direct control and management of the board of directors Marketing function must closely connect with other functions in the business such as finance, accounting, human resources, administration, import and export material planning Therefore, the person in charge of marketing must know how to connect and receive the consent and support of the relevant departments

To successfully implement a marketing strategy, it is necessary to build a commitment to implementing the marketing program for all members of the business That’s what inner marketing is all about And three prominent factors of the internal environment affecting marketing activities are financial capability, physical, technical and technological facilities and human resources

© Financial capacity: This is a very important factor for the business activities of companies in general and the budget decision for marketing activities in particular Without it, marketing - mix activities to attract business customers will not be possible

¢ Facilities, techniques and technology: Due to the characteristics of food industry products, the creation of quality services requires advanced technical and technological facilities All of these not only make the face of the business but also create good conditions for the company’s employees to promote their full capabilities in activities to attract customers

¢ Human resources: This is a very important factor in businesses It not only directly affects the quality of services that businesses provide, but also is the factor that makes the most difficult difference for competitors Good human resources will create good quality products and services for customers At the same time, they are the ones who create, adjust and implement marketing programs to attract customers

¢ Supplier: Suppliers are business firms and individuals who provide the company and its competitors with the materials needed to produce particular goods

or services For example, to import garment materials and fabrics, the company must buy these products from other foreign companies

Events occurring in the “supplier” environment can seriously affect a company’s marketing Marketing managers must keep a close eye on the prices of supplies, because an increase in the price of purchased goods may force an increase in the price of the product Missing goods or products that do not meet requirements can disrupt supply and delivery schedules for customers In the short term, the company will lose sales and in the long term, it will lose customers’ sympathy for the company

¢ Customer: The customer is the decider of the success or failure of the enterprise, the business goal of the enterprise and the market of the enterprise Companies must study their customers carefully Generally speaking, there are five types of customer markets All these markets listed below are short definitions of them

Consumer market: Individuals and families buy goods and services for personal use

Manufacturer’s market: Organizing the purchase of goods and services to use them in the production process

¢ Competitors: One of the laws of the market is that where there is a bridge, there is supply The clothing market is also outside this law With the rapid development of clothing industry, the demand for product quality and product diversity has increased The fierce competition between enterprises has also begun Competitive factors have a great influence on the marketing activities of enterprises Knowing the competition and competitors is very important for making an effective marketing plan The marketing manager must always pay attention to the activities

of competitors, and must follow up and take countermeasures in time to cope with the changes from competitors At present, there are hundreds of companies in Hai Duong and the clothing production base is a great challenge for the companies 1.3 Marketing online activities in the business

1.3.1 Online advertising

The revolution of internet technology is called the discovery of endless gold mines Media workers are miners, and there are 1001 advertising forms for consumers to choose from Among them, online advertising is considered as the most basic and simple online marketing tool Like other types of advertising, online advertising aims to provide information to speed up transactions between buyers and sellers

But online advertising is different from other advertisements in mass media

It allows consumers to interact with advertisements Customers can click on advertisements to get information or buy the same products as advertisements They

Based on the customer database, online marketers will analyze and group customer objects with the same interests or needs to develop email content and send

it to the corresponding audience groups

This technology not only helps to contact potential customers, but also keeps in touch with existing customers, providing new and attractive interior design content to provide new information about the company’s products, services or promotion plans Compared with traditional forms of direct marketing such as telephone and mail, email marketing helps to reduce the huge cost of printing and contacting customers Obtain quality database, suitable for the program (such as age, income, qualifications, etc.) Understanding the email usage habits in various geographical areas and predicting possible technical failures will help to successfully conduct email marketing activities

There are both advantages and disadvantages of email marketing as follows:

Judging from this fact, it requires enterprises to find some way to appear in the prominent position in search results In order to solve this problem, enterprises can use two methods: through the support of SEO and SEM tools to make themselves stand out Understandably, SEO is a method for 24 search engines (such
