Lời đầu tiên, nhóm 5 chúng em xin gửi lời chào và lời cảm ơn chân thành nhất đến cô Hoàng Thu Ba - Giảng viên bộ môn Tiếng Anh tại Trường Đại học Thương Mại Qua xuyên suốt kì học tập vừa rồi, chúng em được cô chia sẻ không chỉ về những kiến thức của bộ môn Tiếng Anh mà còn về những kiến thức của đời sống, ví dụ thực tế để chúng em có thể định hướng rõ tư duy cũng như nâng cao trình độ ngoại ngữ.

Với sự giúp đỡ của cô và các thành viên trong nhóm, chúng em đã hoàn thành đề tài thảo luận “Important events in our life.” Đây là một chủ đề vô cùng hấp dẫn và mang nhiều ý nghĩa trong cuộc sống Đề tài đề cập đến các sự kiện, bước ngoặt quan trọng trong cuộc đời chúng ta và từ đó, chúng ta có những định hướng, hành động ý nghĩa hơn.

Tuy nhiên, do chưa có nhiều kinh nghiệm làm đề tài và còn tồn tại những hạn chế về kiến thức, bài thảo luận chắc chắn sẽ không tránh khỏi những thiếu sót Vì vậy kính mong cô đưa ra nhận xét và góp ý để bài thảo luận của chúng em được hoàn thiện hơn.

My name is Nguyen Bao Ngoc, and I’m from Group 5 Today I will represent my group to interpret “Important events in our life” I am thrilled to be here today to share my knowledge and insights with all of you I hope this will help you to have a whole perspective about this topic Now, let’s begin In everyone's life, there are pivotal and memorable turning points These include the day we were born, the day we grow up, the day we start building our careers and future, the day of independence, and the day of establishing ourselves Among these turning points, the moment of maturity stands out as an incredibly important milestone It marks the transition from being a child to being an adult, requiring us to step into life on our own feet, taking responsibility for ourselves, our families, and society in terms of thoughts, actions, and emotions This significant moment is often associated with the age of 18, a major event in our lives where there are crucial forks on the road

First, it was my 18th birthday The 18th birthday is often considered a big event and marks an important stage in my life Turning 18 marks an important transition from adolescence to more adult life A perception of responsibility and power often supports this Along with power and responsibility comes freedom and independence Many people see their 18th birthday as an opportunity to gain more freedom and independence, including the right to make decisions about their education, career, and personal life Furthermore, for many young people, this is the moment to start exploring the world, whether traveling, learning, or even participating in new experiences Your 18th birthday is not only an opportunity to celebrate your new year but also an opportunity to celebrate innovation and personal progress This is an opportunity to look back on achievements and set new goals For many people, this is an opportunity to express gratitude for growing up and being ready to face new

responsibilities, so throwing a big birthday party can be a good way to celebrate the milestone This moment and share the joy with family and friends.

It can be said that the 18th birthday is like a major turning point in life, opening a new chapter with many new opportunities and challenges.

The second is the graduation ceremony taking yearbook photos, to save wonderful moments that can never be had again Every time the buzzing sound of cicadas begins to creep among the trees, it is like a siren signaling the arrival of yearbook season It is the season of separation for high school students and also a turning point in one's life at the age of 18 In our student lives, perhaps the moment we put on our bachelor's robes with our diplomas in hand are precious movies that cannot be rewarded We are no longer students who wear white uniforms to school every day, but we have entered a new chapter of life All the beautiful and loving things between teachers and students, friends, and the school will be preserved in the "yearbook" photo shoot The students will have a photo session at school with relatives, friends, and teachers who have been with them for the past three years and can choose an additional photo shooting concept at places such as the Temple of Literature, Imperial Citadel of Thang Long Those good things are kept in an album with photos of all class members and homeroom teachers, accompanied by each person's mottos and messages about after that That's why people often say, "Happy times will come and go, but memories will always last”

What's more special is the graduation ceremony - an important milestone marking the maturity of 18 years old When we are awarded a diploma, it is the moment when we are recognized and honored for our academic achievements and then every student enters a new page, a new journey needs to be stronger and braver to contribute to the country with their intelligence and knowledge We may be surprised at this important event, but eventually, everyone must grow up and adapt to new things in life The high school graduation ceremony is also a coming-of-age ceremony and brings the dreams and ambitions of the students out to the bigger sea From then on, turning 18 is also meaningful and will forever be a valuable memory for each of us.

Finally, the last turning point is entering university At the age of 18, we cannot ignore the significant event of stepping into university Getting into university is a crucial event in our lives as it opens up a new horizon, a new environment for individuals to experience, much like a turning point that changes our entire lives.

First and foremost, university helps individuals realize their dreams, and choose a profession that aligns with their abilities and interests for the future University is an entirely new environment, vastly different from life in the countryside, offering exciting life experiences such as meeting new friends and interacting with professionals Why is entering university an opportunity for young people and a lifelong turning point? Because university truly provides numerous opportunities, creating new space and an environment for individuals to assert themselves Stepping into university, individuals not only learn knowledge in the classroom but also learn how to be independent when living away from family, manage finances wisely, handle the pressures of life, and experience independence, teaching them to "become adults." University "gives away" relationships, experiences, and opportunities, creating an environment where we can break our limits Stepping into the university door is truly an event, a pivotal turning point in everyone's life.

At the age of 18, it is a significant milestone to prove to the world that we have taken control of our lives.

Besides some outstanding 18-year-old events we have mentioned before, it’s impossible not to mention marriage As soon as we turn 18, getting married is also considered as one of the biggest events of life Here are the reasons.

Getting married is one of the most significant turning point events in a human's life It is a vital period when committing to love and appreciate someone through good and bad times On this occasion, everything is well-prepared and a lot of people come to the wedding party to have fun, give the couple their best wishes and create wonderful memories Although marriage varies in different categories for many people, it still exerts a major influence on our lives And here are some reasons why marriage is often considered as an important event.

First of all, let’s talk about how our lives have changed since we got married About financial problems, money is one of the biggest things couples fight about But it’s also one of the biggest things that can grow intimacy if you do it well The reason is that when we settle down, we are not the only ones anymore The wife and husband have to spend money on the cost of living Furthermore, when we have kids, the cost of raising a child is always high On the other side, marriage ensures

legal benefits such as tax breaks, inheritance rights, access to health insurance, and

joint property ownership These benefits could bring about security and stability for couples and their families In this way, we learn to manage expenses, save, invest,…

Secondly, love is the main foundation of each marriage That means, when two people fall in love with each other, they also want to spend the rest of their life living happily by getting married and starting a family Besides, deciding to get married will promote the responsibility of both men and women for this shared family life, not just their responsibility to each other For example, many young people out there who used to live irresponsible and insensitive lives suddenly became responsible parents after getting married The reason is that they are now no longer teenagers, to build a happy family, each has to change and become a role model in the family

In another aspect, I would go into compatibility Ups and downs in marriage life are inevitable Sometimes, the differences in character and habit cause blazing rows In that case, a wife or a husband should dismiss their ego and make concessions When living together, our partner can be a mirror that helps us understand ourselves better, realize where we are lacking, and try to improve it Thus, marriage is considered a sacred bond that brings about fidelity, empathy, understanding, altruism affection, and family happiness That means that to ensure a sustainable marriage, each side must have enough empathy and mutual understanding These simple changes in life can also become the foundation of self-improvement, getting along with our loved ones, and the ability to adapt and solve challenges in our daily lives Last but not least, we can not pass maturity When we think about tying the knot, it means we have a profound awareness of settling down and building happiness In other words, marriage marks maturity not only in age but also in awareness It’s clear that getting married nourishes valuable feelings.

In short, the age of 18 and getting married are two very important events in our lives It affects our future consider thinking carefully in advance of deciding to have a happy future and not to be regretted.
