UNIT 1: LET’S LEARN SOME MORE I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Identify objects ( singular), the positive ( Yes ) question -and – answer II. Teaching aids: - Picture cards 1-8 ( school items ), wall charts, tape recorder, puppets. III. Procedures: Time Stages and Contents Teacher’s activities Student’s activities 5’ 5’ I. WARM UP: Label Group 1: Blue Group 1: Red Group 1: Green II. PRESENTATION: - Giving instruction. - Deviding class into 03 groups. Giving each group 08 small papers in different colour. Asking them to write down all school items (01 word for a piece of paper ), then they stick their labels on the right items in the classroom. - Checking - Listen. - Work in groups. - Write down. - Stick on the items. - Count the right words. - Congratulation. 5’ 3’ 2’ 4’ 4’ 1. Present the positive ( Yes ) question -and – answer pattern: Puppet A: ( show the book): Is this a book? Puppet B: ( nod his head):Yes, it is. Puppet A: ( show other items): Is this a ruler? ? 2. Practice: T: Is this a book? Ss: Is this a book? III. OPEN YOUR BOOK: 1. Open your book to page 6:   2. Student open their books to page 6:  their result. Deciding who is the winner. - Showing some schoool items on the desk. Using puppets to model ( Yes ) question answer pattern. - Suggesting sts to answer. - Changing the puppet B, asking sts to ask. - Deviding class into 04 groups, giving each group 02 picture cards, asking them to practise the question – answer. - Modelling. - Showing the wall chart. - Look at T’s activities , listen. - Choral answer and nod their heads: Yes, it is. - Choral ask: Is this a ( pen) ? - Work in groups. - Listen and choral repetition. - Practise. - Call characters’ names on the picture and identify items in the classroom. - Listen and show on the picture. T: Is this a book? S: Yes, it is. 5’ 2’ 3. Present the paradigm and contraction on page 6: 4. Practice: IV. EXTENSION: Pass the card       V. WORKBOOK: Write Is this a book? Yes, it is. -Playing the tape. - Writing the model. - Playing the tape again. - Asking Ss to practise in pairs. - Monitoring. ( Help Ss, if they need). - Calling Ss to stand in 04 lines. Giving each lines a picture card. He/She shows the picture and asks, the next st answers, then pass this picture to the next st. - Asking Ss to write the answer. - Copy down. - Listen and choral repetition. - Ask and answer: Is this a book?
