How has modern media replaced traditional platforms in updated news? When using these two channels to update news, what are the benefits and drawbacks? What are the problems when reading online newspapers? How does misinformation affect readers? CHAPTER II LITERATURE REVIEW Traditional media as a main role of updated the news in the past Print media, which predates the internet and includes publications as books, newspapers, magazines, newsletters, academic journals, pamphlets, leaflets, broadsides, and billboards, is regarded as traditional or old media According to The talmil project (n.d) “Chapter 5: From traditional media to new media” Basicially, old media not requies the Internet to access, and traditional media played a main part in the past A newspaper is a periodical that is released on a regular basis that includes news, information, and advertisements Over 1,400 daily newspapers are published in the United States, out of an estimated 6,600 worldwide They sell 395 million copies day worldwide, 55 million of which are sold in the United States (WordPress, n.d) The Queen of the UK defended traditional media, saying that it was important to have "Reliable sources of information at a time when there are many sources vying for the attention of citizens." 2020 (Waterson) But in the modern era, as technology has improved, people now want to stay current with news via alternative platforms because of a number of shortcomings with traditional media Between 2006 and 2011, the number of paid subscribers to daily print newspapers in the United States fell by 20%, in part as a result of the emergence of substitute news sources, such as the free information provided on newspaper websites and by news aggregators like Yahoo (Adithya et al 2017) According to Haque (2017), the study looked at news media avoidances such "inconvenience" and "lack of time" in order to identify hidden meanings Modern media changing the habit of users Tran Phuong Linh, 10210022, 18S1 Many individuals today access the Internet for the most recent news at any time and anywhere since digital media has now permeated modern culture and is posing a threat to print media (Pradeep Tewari, 2016) Through a variety of means, internet technology is altering how news is published and disseminated globally (Syeda et al., 2015) Online newspapers are very different from print publications: Online readers navigate by clicking links and menu buttons while they read from digital content on a computer or smartphone screen (Pradeep Tewari, 2016) Older people are impacted because young people are more sensitive to the information shared on social media Therefore, it is anticipated that in the future, customers will place a greater emphasis on the information shared on social media (Lavanya et al., 2014) Within a few minutes, those systems can update news and data regarding global events The digital platforms with the most users are social networks, where 43% of American readers spent more time in the mid of April The use of social media, on the other hand, has dramatically expanded across the country and shows no signs of slowing down Social media is used by 95% of people in Brunei, 83% of people in Singapore, and 75% of people in Malaysia, according to an ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute survey from 2018 (Nortajuddin,2020) Modern media is one of the most effective tools for people worldwide because of its incredible advantages Misinformation Unfortunately, a lot of false information has spread to exploit the situation, mostly on social networking sites like Facebook, Tik Tok, and Twitter People's methods for gathering news and information are quickly changing Social media is currently the best resource for staying up to date with the news According to Pew Research Center's report from 2021, "a third of US adults continue to regularly get their news from Facebook." "It is problematic because major social activities would be at risk if systematic measures were not taken to decrease the amount of false material on media platforms." (Perry, 2020) While conventional one was more probable to surface in traditional media like newspapers, television, or radio, false information is frequently uploaded on social media like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram According to Bridgman (2020), news broadcasts tend to support public health recommendations like social Tran Phuong Linh, 10210022, 18S1 estrangement, however there is substantially more misinformation spread on Twitter Traditional media is therefore seen as a reliable source of information CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Participants: Candidates for the study were any university students between the ages of 18 and 25 If any of the following conditions were true, they were permitted to participate in the research: Use new media or traditional media to share news updates, be worried about the news, and update it frequently Research tools: I conducted an online survey with 15 questions to find out more about the way college students use to updated news 50 students from NEU and another university would be great to talk to After that, I compiled all of the findings and analyzed them using charts Data collection procedure: I gathered evidence from academic websites, books, and blogs that provided research data as well as in information on people's media choices and news consumption patterns After then, participants can join by responding to the Google Forms survey's questions how they keep abreast of news I will then compile the findings and analyze them for the report Document continues below Discover more from: Marketing Research Đại học Kinh tế… 156 documents Go to course Premium A7G7 - Discuss the 18 market… Marketing Research 100% (16) BáoPremium cáo nghiên cứu 41 162 - nhóm 10 Marketing Research 100% (14) Premium Giao trinh nghien cuu marketing Marketing Research 93% (15) Premium Nghien Cuu 204 Marketing-Nguyen… Marketing Research 100% (2) Marketing Insight 19 Analytic A1.1 Marketing Research 100% (1) Tran Phuong Linh, 10210022, 18S1 Bài Premium Tập Tình Huống Môn Nghiên Cứu… CHAPTER IV MAJOR FINDING & 1DISCUSSION Less than hour;
