Social Environment means human social environments and encompass the immediate physical surroundings, social relationships, and cultural milieus within which the affected groups of people function and interact Components of the social environment include built infrastructure; industrial and occupational structure; labour markets; social and economic processes; wealth; social, human, and health services; power relations; government; race relations; social inequality; cultural practices; the arts; religious institutions and practices; and beliefs about place and community 3.1.2 How does it relate to the business environment in Japan? ❖ Teamwork and employee cooperation Since ancient times, Japan has always been appreciated for its teamwork of solidarity and attachment to the collective, the goal of the whole team is also the goal of each individual Japan has always emphasized the value of teamwork and that is seen as a way to get things done more smoothly They go to work always interested in the results of the common work, for the sake of the collective, leaving aside individual interests A team with high teamwork, sharing work helps to improve the morale and work productivity of members in business in Japan Teamwork and cooperation of employees at work is the most important factor to help Japanese business overcome difficulties and obstacles to achieve goals In addition, not only creating growth but also creating sustainable development for that business Because of that, most Japanese businesses focus on building teamwork for their employees ❖ Employee job satisfaction In Japanese business, people live for the business, think about the business Employees in Japanese business are famous for their loyalty, love for their profession and commitment to the business Job satisfaction has a positive relationship with employee engagement in Japanese enterprises Only when employees voluntarily, happily and actively work will the quality of work be good, ensuring the products made with good quality That is what creates the cohesion, loyalty, and love for the profession of employees in Japanese business Because for Japanese businesses, employee satisfaction has an impact on all aspects of business activities such as: Increase the company's overall productivity, contributing to improving corporate reputation, ❖ Motivation through the slogan Many Japanese businesses have the habit of starting a new working day by lining up and shouting the company's slogan For example, the Toyota company has the slogan: Go everywhere Honda's slogan is: the power of dream On the surface, this may seem like a formal activity, but it's a way to boost your morale Moreover, when a new day begins, employees always keep the company's goals in mind Every time you sit at your desk, remind yourself of the work you will have to Always keep long-term goals in mind You should write down the company's goals in a notebook to keep track of whether your work aligns with those goals Otherwise, the daily errands will inevitably obscure or overshadow those goals ❖ Position of leadership It is often appropriate for Japanese corporations to add administrators who are local users who come from elsewhere, because local managers inform the local business environment and operations, costs less, and local people can focus on activities for long-term goals In this way, Japanese corporations only need to send a few experts abroad to impart skills the necessary expertise and the manner in which the main business activities are conducted Leadership in Japan is a versatile combination of leaders' deep work knowledge and the ability to develop mentors and lead people, respected for their technical knowledge accompanied by their ability to leadership ability Leaders rarely give orders In fact, leaders often lead and mentor through questions Leaders will ask about personal situations and strategies of action, but they not answer these questions despite their knowledge 3.2 Cultural environment 3.2.1 What is a cultural environment? Cultural environments are remarkable cultural, social, and economic resources Cultural environments and the features particular to them provide a unique edge to regions and places, serve as the foundation of the development of local communities and create business opportunities Cultural environments are environments shaped by human activities To understand the customers of a particular region, studying their social and cultural environment is very important The environment shapes the values, behaviors, attitudes and aspirations of people Cultural environment is the behavior or beliefs of a certain group of people based on factors influencing their culture Studying cultural environment is crucial for any business to thrive as it enables them to build the ideal product for the target customer, at the right place at the right time & right price 3.2.2 How does it relate to the business environment in Japan? ❖ Values and innovation Some business managers may wrongly assume that the key to creating a strong culture environment is simply to offer more benefits to employees While such elements as free food and extra paid time off can certainly let employees know they are appreciated, more is necessary Companies in Japan that repeatedly earned honors for being a good place to work make sure their values permeate every aspect of their operations The company, which provides rehabilitation services, keeps its primary mission — to improve lives — at the forefront of everything it does This values-based method of operation serves to build a business environment that is attractive, positive, and productive Innovation is also key to creating a good business environment Toyota, a major automaker, welcomes innovation by allowing factory workers, regardless of their position, to stop the production line when they see something wrong or which modules in the manufacturing could be improved The production process of Toyota has been extremely efficient as a result of this culture ❖ Attitude builds culture • Teamwork attitude If you pay attention to the statements of Japanese people, especially Japanese businessmen, when they are interviewed, they will always say "We" instead of "I" This shows a very strong collective element in the working style and attitude of the Japanese Their concept is that success is always created from a collective factor, an individual will never create great value by himself Therefore, they respect each member of the team, in the organization and are willing to go a little slower to ensure efficiency and each person feels respected in the process of working • Attitude is always ready to dedicate to work Always on time Talking about Japanese people, it is impossible not to mention their punctuality At work, the punctuality in going to work, the time of appointments, meetings is always something to be taken seriously Punctuality is not only a professional attitude at work, but for the Japanese, it is also an individual's honor and face when meeting and working with others That's why they never allow themselves to lose face or show disrespect to others about the issue of time Don't be afraid to work overtime every day In Japan, overtime is very common Even overtime has become a work culture for them No need to be reminded, employees automatically work overtime when they feel that their workload is still high and they need to more to complete it More than that, overtime also shows their dedication to their work Thereby, this will become a plus point for superiors to decide whether they get a promotion or a raise That is why overtime becomes an inevitable factor and it shows the efficiency and productivity of employees • Compliance with principles In Japanese companies and businesses, rules and regulations are always set out and everyone needs to comply Compliance with the principles will ensure high consistency in work, ensure order and maintain stability for the company and the business Therefore, the Japanese always have a certain respect for the general principles and are always serious about implementing them during their working time • Ensure communication Instead of exchanging via email, phone, or fax, the Japanese always try for face-to-face communication Such a meeting will help their cooperation become more intimate, more reliable and bring about a stronger bond The positive attitude to moisten the relationship of the Japanese at work is a bright spot in the current developing digital age Communication through various means is gradually replacing meetings However, for the Japanese, maintaining contact by meeting face-to-face will bring much more lasting values 10 CONCLUSION Thereby showing that the corporate social and cultural environment is the key to the sustainable development of enterprises Therefore, building a business environment is necessary and the first thing that businesses need to pay attention to Building and developing a business environment is becoming a trend in the world and has been elevated to a strategic level in many businesses and economic groups today 11
