Teacher: Trần Thanh Minh Week: 23 Period: Planning date: 24/2/2023 LESSON PLAN TIẾNG ANH UNIT 7: SAVING UP - LESSON 4: LANGUAGE FOCUS (Presentation- Practice- Production) I AIMS: Language contents: - Vocabulary: turn on, turn off, look for, look after, go on Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, my students will be able to use the connectives: and, but, because, or, so, therefore, however and some phrasal verbs and further practice making suggestions Skills: - Main skills : reading and writing skills - Sub skills : speaking skills Attitude: Competences: - know how to use connectives - use some phrasal verb - know how to make suggestion by using “suggest” II TEACHER’S AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATIONS: Teacher: pictures, textbooks, powerpoint slides, projector, laptop, wireless mouse,… Students: textbook, notebook III TECHNIQUES: Grammar Translation Method, group Ss and T’s activities, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, discussion group, technical present… IV PROCEDURES: TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP (5’) STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES CONTENT - Aims: Arouse students’ interest review some vocabulary in the previous lesson, and lead to the topic of today’s lesson Contents: Students work in groups Products: Students’ answers Organization: - Divide the class into groups - Form groups GAME: PASS THE BOARD - Introduce the instruction of the - Listen carefully Instruction: - Give students the mini board - Receive mini board - Each member in the group will write a connective, then pass the board to the person next to them - Ask some ICQs - Answer some ICQs - Play the game - Play the game in groups - Check students’ answers - Check the answers with the teacher game to the students - Announce the winner - One member only writes one word - When they think they have finished, they have to stick the mini board to the main board - The first group to finish with all the correct answers will be the winner ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (8’) Aims: Teacher presents connectives Contents: Students listen and repeat new words individually/in pairs Products: Students can remember, understand and use the connectives Organization: Extra exercise: - Introduce the new task - Listen carefully Extra exercise: Match the words with its meaning and uses in Vietnamese - Give students the handout - Receive the handout and - và, thêm vào - Ask students to the task individually in - Do the task individually in minute minute but – nhưng, trái ngược - Ask students to compare the answers with - Compare the answer with their partner their partner - Check the answer with the teacher - Check the answers so, therefore – thế, (chỉ kết quả) - Give students some examples of these - Note down connectives or – hoặc, hay (chỉ lựa chọn) because – ( lý do) however – nhiên ( trái ngược nhau) Examples: I play football and basketball I love her, but she doesn’t love me Do you like chocolate or flowers?
