(2019) Introduction to community psychology: Becoming an agent of change Rebus Foundation https://press.rebus.community/ introductiontocommunitypsychology/ The purpose of each of the ten components of CAR resources is listed below Adult Citizens Returning to Communities after Incarceration - These resources will help in finding specific services that are needed by returning citizens These organizations and agencies provide many different services in one location Holistic Health - Physical and mental health agency resources provide much needed help in cases of trauma, physical illness, and drug and alcohol counseling Community Beautification and Gardens - These resources offer opportunities for returning citizens to become a part of community gardening and other beautification programs located in their neighborhoods Education - These resources include schools, educational programs, and training classes for specific skills and companies Churches and Faith-Based Organizations - There are churches and other faith-based institutions that provide many different services and guidance to returning citizens Social Justice and Policy - Community and police partnerships, criminal justice system reform, community activists, and politicians establishing second chance policies will allow returning individuals and their advocates to ensure a system that is fair and equitable for all citizens Community Organization and Agencies - Finding reentry services in the community in which you live can help returning citizens in locating immediate assistance and resources Employment, Placement, and Training - Training as well as placement programs provide individuals with marketable skills as well as actual employment opportunities that can make a difference Sense of Belonging/COMMUNITY - You can’t it alone!
