2008 International Conference ~ November 10-13, 2008 ~ St Louis, Missouri Presentation Proposal Guidelines Thank you for your interest in serving the Donor Relations profession by presenting at the 2008 ADRP International Conference The closing date for submissions is Tuesday, May 27, 2008 Proposals are considered as they are received; final selections are expected to be communicated in June We have streamlined the proposal process and created a document to assist you as you brainstorm (see: ADRP Conference Ideas for Potential Presenters.) Helpful Information to review as you prepare your proposal: Organization of This Year’s Conference In 2008, we will offer: A Optional Pre-Conference Institutes: Monday, November 10 Newcomers to the Profession: Of benefit to those from any type of NPO Leadership: Of benefit to Managers and Leaders in Donor Relations / Stewardship, or those who aspire to these roles Health Care: Of benefit to any professionals in health-related institutions Presenters of novel, timely, strategic, and focused topics for each Institute group are needed These optional Institutes run concurrently from 10am to 4pm (lunch included), and are available at an additional cost to conference registrants Institute content addresses the growing demand for specialized professional information, and group sizes are kept small to encourage discussion and expanded exploration of the topics These are very rewarding sessions for both presenters and attendees and we highly encourage ADRP members to consider participation as either a presenter or attendee B Conference Sessions: Tuesday November 11, Wednesday November 12, and Thursday November 13 (half day) We are seeking 90 minute and two hour sessions (presentation time should include Q&A), with six presentations running concurrently Sessions should offer a mix of presentations and discussions, and be led by individual presenters and/or panels The two hour sessions can be used for deeper subject exploration, with “hands on” components Each session will identify its intended audience(s) - beginner/intermediate or advanced/leadership C Keynote Speakers: Three external speakers have been engaged to address: Crucial Conversations Etiquette Good Governance for Nonprofits Presentation Proposal Guidelines A The Content Committee will coordinate with the Primary Presenter for the session It is the Primary Presenter’s responsibility to notify any co-presenters regarding requirements for the session, including the collection of co-presenter bios B Presenter Bios, Session Descriptions and Audio Visual Needs are due at the time of submission C Institute and Session presenters may opt for a 50% conference registration discount, based on the “early bird” registration fee ADRP’s conference is a “break even” event – hotel, catering and AV costs are substantial Conference fees are intentionally modest to enable more professionals to attend We encourage presenters to opt out of the registration discount when possible There is a space to indicate your preference on the Proposal form Unless other arrangements are made, all travel, hotel and additional expenses are the responsibility of the presenter D ADRP strongly encourages the use of printed materials for presentation support, and will ask that they be provided by a specific date, to be communicated when the proposal is accepted Presenters will be provided with shipping instructions so that any supplemental materials or samples can be sent to the hotel in advance Please be sure that slides are “initialed” with your identification and that any quotations or information from other sources are properly attributed There is a release statement included in the submission form; the sharing of information is a vital (and much appreciated) element that sets ADRP apart and helps it succeed E PowerPoint and other electronic resources used during the course of the presentation may be posted on the ADRP website, for access by conference registrants only, for one month following the conclusion of the Conference F ADRP will provide speakers a summary of their session evaluations Your 2008 Content Committee: Dana Booth, The Ohio State University (OH), chair; Monica Almond, Claremont Graduate University (CA); Linda Humphrey, Consultant (CO); Hilary Mayall Jetty, Albuquerque Museum (NM); Allison Krumsiek, The Oakland Zoo (CA); Karen McPeak, Denison University (OH); Susan Melton, Saint Luke's Hospital Foundation (MO); Erica Munson, The Rotary Foundation (IL); Leah G Rothschild, Simmons College (MA); Kathy Toay, University of Minnesota Foundation (MN) Your 2008 Conference Chairs: Lori Green, Otterbein College (OH), Conference Chair; Kim Ludwig, Oberlin College (OH) Logistics Chair; Linda Humphrey, Conference Committee, (CO); Cheryl Hutchinson, Wright State University (OH) Exhibit & Partners Chair Please submit all presentation proposals to the Content Committee, c/o: Dana Booth, Director, contentchair08@adrp.net ... opt for a 50% conference registration discount, based on the “early bird” registration fee ADRP? ??s conference is a “break even” event – hotel, catering and AV costs are substantial Conference fees...
