This session will provide an overview of FASAB’s active projects and publications and discuss how your expertise can assist FASAB’s mission to enhance government accountability Learning Objectives Participants will learn about: The GAAP hierarchy FASAB’s active projects & related publications Ways to get involved Discussion Topics Delivery Options Group Internet Based CPE Credit 1.0 CPE in Accounting Government Program Level Overview Prerequisites None Advanced Preparation None Who should attend All-level managers and executives, senior-level managers, entry-level staff, auditors, accountants, ACCAs, CMA, CPAs, CPEs, and CIA Pricing • • • Course Registration Link https://form.jotform.com/212807036471149 Attendance Policy To receive 1.0 CPE credits, you must attend for at least 50 minutes Meeting Policies Refund policy: AGA Montgomery/PG Chapter cannot offer refunds and all transactions are final For more information on complaints policies, please visit www.marylandaga.com Questions If you have any questions, please email us at education@marylandaga.com The GAAP hierarchy Timeline of an active project FASAB’s current active projects Outreach efforts AGA Montgomery/PG Chapter Members & Students– FREE Non-Montgomery/PG AGA Chapter Members - $5 Non-AGA Members - $10 Speakers Robin Gilliam, FASAB Ms Gilliam began her federal career in 1997 at the Census Bureau working on the audited Financial Statements She then gained extensive knowledge in developing core financial systems at Commerce, Labor, and the Treasury Departments While at Treasury, Ms Gilliam was the liaison to the Joint Financial Management Improvement Program (JFMIP) and the Financial Systems Integration Office (FSIO), joining a team of agency experts to develop the federal core financial system requirements and the standard reimbursable business processes She also led a diverse group of agencies in developing the Interagency Agreement—IAA—form to standardize reimbursable agreements across the Government Ms Gilliam worked closely with OMB and agencies to develop financial data standards and policies, for which she wrote and contributed to the Treasury Financial Manual Ms Gilliam joined FASAB in September 2013 and is the project manager on risk reporting Ms Gilliam has a bachelor’s degree in art and psychology from Goucher College and a Certificate in Accounting from UMBC She is a Certified Public Accountant, Project Management Professional, and is a member of the Association of Government Accountants and the Association for Federal Enterprise Risk Management Leigha Kiger, FASAB Leigha Kiger is a communications specialist with the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board Since joining FASAB in 2015, Ms Kiger has assisted in the development of Board publications by editing for clarity, consistency, and uniformity She also manages internal and external communications, including meeting minutes, newsletters, listserv messages, and FASAB’s website content Before joining FASAB, Ms Kiger participated in AmeriCorps VISTA, a national service program overseen by the Corporation for National and Community Service During her year of service, she piloted and coordinated the first financial literacy program of its kind at a local non-profit in Florida Ms Kiger graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English AGA Montgomery/Prince George’s County Chapter is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.NASBARegistry.org Sponsor Appreciation Platinum level Gold level Silver level Bronze level 160 ...
