All American Committee Report In 2014‐2015, the All American selection committee spent countless hours sorting through the records of thousands of college sailors in hundreds of regattas. Techscore reports were used to help construct our lists and save time. Also, by beginning the process earlier in the spring, we were able to have fewer meetings during nationals. This year, we added additional member of the MAISA and NEISA All Conference Committees. This was a huge help, especially in regards to making the crew lists. For the top honors, we had some of the closest races in history, as the Coed and Women’s College Sailors of the Year and the Hobbs award winners had to be put to a vote of the committee. In the end, the committee feels strongly that the top award winners were all very worthy and that the other finalists were all close to equally worthy, but just a small bit behind the winners. In our deliberations, we felt as if we were not honoring enough crews compared to the total number of skippers who were honored. We also felt that the conditions we were working with prevented us from honoring many who we felt were deserving. This fall, we looked into the ratios of total sailors in each category and saw that a much higher ratio of skippers were being honored when Honorable Mentions are included. The committee feels that it would make a lot of sense to add Honorable Mention Crew awards to allow us to award a higher number of deserving crews. Here is our proposal: Change the allocation of All American Crews to read as follows: Up to 20 All American Crews, and additional Honorable Mentions, together totaling not more than 30 2015 ALL AMERICAN SAILING TEAM SAILOR SCHOOL DIVISION AWARD Breanne Lauren Baldino Roger Williams University Crew All America Elizabeth Anne Barnard Boston College Crew All America Charlotte Frances Belling Yale University Crew All America Alicia Ann Blumenthal College of Charleston Crew All America Katia A.
