Stop by Mr Hardacre's Room (2327) and pick up the necessary forms Payment for Trimester memberships will be due by Tuesday, August 21 The FIRST Robotics team is having their informational call-out meeting on Wednesday August 15th from 2:50-3:15 in room 1261 (Mr Marley) If you are unable to attend this meeting, feel free to join us at any of our August practices every Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 also in room 1261 to learn about FIRST, the team, and this year’s game, Deep Space See Mr Marley for more details DECA will have a call-out meeting in room 1203 August 16 (Thursday) during Plus Time Yoga Club will have an informational callout meeting Thursday, Aug 16th during PlusTime Yoga Club is open to ALL abilities, from master-Yogi to can't-touch-my-toes New this year, Yoga Club will be FREE See Mrs Messmore in room 1243 for details, and be sure to sign-up in PlusTime for the meeting under CLUBS Namaste We will be holding a call-out meeting for French Club during Rocks Connections next Wednesday the 22nd of August All levels or French are welcome and students not have to be in French to join ATHLETICS: BOYS VARSITY TENNIS: The boys tennis team opened their season on Monday traveling to Hamilton Southeastern It was a great day for tennis but unfortunately the Rocks came up a little short Sophomore Quentin Markle gave the varsity team their only victory at #2 singles #1 single Connor Maris and #3 singles Connor Housefield both played terrific but their opponents won in hard fought matches #1 doubles team of Nicholas Mabe and Harrison Sindelar won the first set but HSE battled back to win the match #2 doubles team of WeiBin Cheah and Alex Mullet had many opportunities in the second set but came up a little short The JV Rocks lost 5-11 #1 singles player Brett Barnes won a close match in a tiebreaker #1 doubles team of Danny Hildebrand and Jason Gabennesch started their season with a great victory 8-3 The Rocks are excited to get back at it on Thursday in their home opener against Zionsville The match starts at 5pm WHS BOYS Varsity lost a well fought battle 1-0 against Fishers The JV team lost 2-1 to Fishers with Ryan Fingers scoring our line goal Thanks to all who came to Fill the Hill Varsity plays at home against Pike Saturday while JV plays in the Pike Invitational Saturday GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: The varsity ROCKS opened up their season last night at #1 ranked Yorktown HS.The ROCKS had a good showing in their serve reception game averaging a 2.00 as a team, and being led by Bailey Mendler with a 2.35 serve receive average Mendler also racked up 20 digs on the night The ROCKS lost in to Yorktown, and will be in action again this Wednesday at HOME vs Greenfield Central GIRLS VARSITY GOLF: Westfield Lady Rocks shot a 163 at Prairieview Golf Club on Tuesday which was good enough for second in the triangular match between Carmel, Westfield and Noblesville Carmel took the victory with a 158 and Noblesville finished with a 208 Leading the Rocks was Jocelyn Bruch with a one over par 37 and medalist honors Natalie Shupe was close behind with a 38 Grace Snyder turned in a solid round of 40 Megan Barker finished with a 48, Cate Jensen a 49 and Brette Hanavan finished with a 53 The Rocks are back in action tomorrow against Tipton Wrestling: Attention all wrestlers and managers Wednesday (8/22) there will be a call-out meeting in Coach Smith's room (1224) during 6th period, for anyone interested in joining the team as a wrestler or a manager Please see Coach Smith if you are unable to attend SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER: The following College Visits are during Plus Time on Tuesday/Thursday in the Learning Center and open to any student in grades 9-12 Students should register in PlusTime Central Michigan University - September 19th Ohio University - September 19th Ball State University - September 26th Purdue University - October 3rd DePauw University - October 4th PARENTS: The doors open to students at 7:35 AM in the morning and then on Wednesday mornings at 8:05 Please not drop your children off earlier, for doors will be locked and they will not be able to access the building This is also for reasons of safety in that we want to have proper supervision in place when students arrive There are currently two doors at WHS for Parent Drop-Off and Parent Pick-Up Door by the auditorium and Door 13 at the athletic entrance Please not drop your children off in the front of the school, as that is our bus lot and it is not safe As of now, we are not impacted by construction outside There will be some changes in October that we will message out at a later time Just a reminder that Textbook Rental bills for the 2018-19 school year for grades 9-12 will be sent via mail the week of August 20th We need your help! Substitute Teachers are needed at WHS this coming school year most every day!
