August 18, 2020 Hello Campus Partners, Our Road to Success (R2S) Team is very excited to begin another school year with you We will continue to provide virtual advising services for the entire fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic school year We will release our Back to Campus plans later in the Fall semester with the input of public health data, city ordinances, and school district policy We are pleased to announce that majority of our services have been moved to virtual platforms Online advising request  https://www.saedpartnership.org/road-to-success/  https://www.tfaforms.com/4839826 Our assigned advisors contact information is on our Road to Success website page  https://www.saedpartnership.org/road-to-success/ Our SAEP Scholarship is now open and available  https://www.saedpartnership.org/saep-scholarship/ Road to Success Advisor Schedule while providing virtual advising  Tuesday through Friday o 10 am to pm (1 hour lunch break)  Saturday o am to pm (1 hour lunch break) The Road to Success team will be providing advising through student/partner initiated advising along with advisor initiated student outreach (from contact information provided by the school and the district) Advisors will be available through Zoom sessions, phone calls, emails and through text messaging Our Road to Success advisors will continue to promote the SAEP Scholarship and provide advising on our key services:  Goal Setting: To assist students in setting short-term and long-term attendance, academic and career goals In addition, tools and resources are provided to develop the skills and strategies required to accomplish goals, including time management, problem-solving, and self-discipline  Career Planning: To increase awareness of and provide information and resources on career opportunities and assist students with making informed decisions regarding their college and career options Advisors assist students in navigating interest inventories, resume building, college degree plan exploration, and provide information on careers in STEAM and high demand occupations in San Antonio  College Entry and Enrollment: To increase awareness of and provide information and resources about higher education opportunities, as well as assist students with college applications – ApplyTexas, Common App, Coalition – and the enrollment process Advisors work with students to research colleges, write and edit application essays, analyze college admissions test scores, and enroll/register   College Affordability & Financial Aid: To increase awareness of and provide information on financial aid resources available to pay for college; assist students and their families with completing and submitting financial aid (FAFSA/TASFA/CSS Profile) and scholarship applications; assist students and families to understand the student loan process The goal is for students to be informed consumers in this regard Advisors will also help students navigate the verification process and understand financial aid award packages College Transition: To support transition into college by assisting recent high school graduates to access and navigate their college portal, access resources and services, sign up for college orientation, and finalize their college registration, enrollment and matriculation Advisors address “Summer Melt” by communicating with all scholarship applicants – regardless of scholarship eligibility The Road to Success (R2S) component offers One-on-One Advising, College Access Information Sessions for Parents, Assemblies and Classroom Presentations (all virtual for the Fall Semester) In addition, the R2S program offers the San Antonio Education Partnership (SAEP) Scholarship to all graduating seniors at the 32 partnering high schools The SAEP Scholarship has been in place since 1989 and, on average, awards $2,000,000 each year Brackenridge HS, Burbank HS, Churchill HS, Cooper Academy, East Central HS, Edison HS, Fox Tech HS, Harlandale HS, Harlandale STEM ECHS, Highlands HS, Holmes HS, International School of the Americas, Jay HS, Jefferson HS, Johnson HS, Kennedy HS, Lanier HS, Lee HS, MacArthur HS, Madison HS, Marshall HS, McCollum HS, Memorial HS, Reagan HS, Roosevelt HS, Sam Houston HS, South San HS, Southside HS, Southwest HS, Southwest Legacy HS, Stevens HS, Taft HS Scholarship Amounts:  $600 per year at community colleges: Northeast Lakeview College, Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College, St Philip’s College  $850 per year at 4-year public institutions: Texas A&M San Antonio, UT Health San Antonio, University of Texas at San Antonio  $1500 per year at private 4-year institutions: Our Lady of the Lake University, St Mary’s University, Trinity University, University of the Incarnate Word To be eligible a student must complete the following in High School:  Complete the SAEP scholarship application by the March 31st deadline  Attend three (3) SAEP college success activities by the April 30th deadline  Attend SAEP Scholarship activation seminar by the May 31st deadline  Demonstrate financial need by submitting a copy of FAFSA Student Aid Report or TASFA application by the June 30th deadline  Achieve an overall 80 or above grade point average (Inclusive: 9th-12th grade on final transcript)  Graduate from an SAEP partner high school To be awarded the student must activate the SAEP Scholarship by completing the following:  Enroll full-time (12+ credit hours) verified after census date  Enroll in a SAEP participating college/university o If a student enrolls at an institution other than the partner schools (listed above) prior to activating the SAEP Scholarship, will become null and void  Enroll in Fall or Spring semester following high school graduation  Be enrolled in consecutive semesters (no gap year) The SAEP Scholarship is renewable for up to semesters at a community college, up to semesters at a 4-year university, or years, whichever comes first Students can transfer within the partner colleges/universities once they have activated the scholarship, as long as criteria for maintaining the scholarship is met every semester To maintain the following in College:  Enroll full-time (12+ credit hours)  Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)  Enroll in a SAEP participating college/university  Enroll in Fall or Spring semester following high school graduation  Enroll consecutive semesters (Fall/Spring;
