https://dream.utah.edu/ The Dream Center in the Office for Diversity & Inclusion in the Office of Undergraduate Studies works holistically with undocumented students and mixed-status families from college access to graduation The Dream Center (1) engages in specialized college outreach and access strategies, (2) provides individualized advising and scholarship support for current and future University of Utah undocumented students, (3) promotes campus-wide advocacy and trainings for University of Utah students, faculty, staff and administration, and (4) increases community-wide awareness of policies affecting current and future University of Utah undocumented students • Undocumented Students – Educate Utah – Edúcate Utah – A guide to higher education (educate-utah.org) • Non-Resident Students: UTAH HOUSE BILL 144 Non- Resident Tuition Waivers | Admissions (utah.edu) The Utah State Legislature passed House Bill 144 in 2002 which allows eligible Utah high school graduates the opportunity to attend Utah universities & colleges & have the non-resident portion of their tuition waived A student can qualify for this waiver if they: o Attended a Utah high school for three or more years o Graduated or will graduate from a Utah high school or attained the equivalent of a high school diploma (GED) in Utah o Have not registered for college classes prior to the Fall 2002 academic school year o Don not hold a current visa o Have filed or will file an application to legalize their immigration status as soon as they are eligible to so • Non-Resident Students: Utah Senate Bill 253 As of May 12, 2015, Utah SB 253 makes it so any student who graduates from a Utah high school (regardless of high school graduation year) IS NOT required to provide proof of lawful US presence for scholarships or tuition waivers in Utah’s public colleges & universities Therefore, regardless if the student has or does not have DACA, as long as they have graduated from a Utah high school, they may apply to privately funded scholarships administered by a Utah public colleges or university! • Non-Resident Students: Utah House Bill 118 Non- Resident Tuition Waivers | Admissions (utah.edu) The House Bill 118 tuition waiver allows eligible Utah high school graduates the opportunity to attend Utah universities and colleges and have the non-resident portion of their tuition waived A student can qualify for this waiver if they: o Are a foreign national legally admitted to the US (holds a non-immigrant visa such as F-1, H-4, J-1, etc.) o Attended a Utah high school for three or more years o Graduated or will graduate from a Utah high school or attained the equivalent of a high school diploma (GED) in Utah Required documents for House Bill 118 tuition waiver: o Completed House Bill 118 Form o Official final high school transcripts with graduation dates or GED scores University of Utah – For Utah Scholarship For Utah Scholarship -
