Kwikboost Phone Charging Lockers -6 Bays WHEREAS: NOW; This purchase would allow for each campus to get a charging station in a centralized location on the campus as there are no charging stations currently available on the campuses in these locations Students currently have to search for a plug in all of the Student Unions, then having to sit next to the plug the entire time while the phone charges or leave it and risk the possibility of the cell phone being stolen THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Senate should resolve this by granting the purchase of three Kwikboost Phone Charging Lockers for a total of $8,916 out of Senate Account #001504 This purchase would allow a charging station to be accessible to any student on the campus As well as, allowing them to charge any smartphone for any length of time without the risk of their phone being stolen when doing so; Steed mentioned the elections board had set a reelection after being contact with student affairs of previous contestations MacDonald recognized for POI to add that if someone has financial ties to the election, please not vote on this is candidates are being supported by an organization such as Turning Point USA to avoid conflict of interest Steed asked who’s getting money from Turning Point USA? MacDonald said it’s public record that Marianna’s campaign was funded by Turning Point USA Chief Justice recognized for POI and explained that those were not made public record because they were never published The VP has access just like he does MacDonald added it is public record and he does not have access McDonald called back to order Jon Carter recognized for POI and explained that going to fau.edu/getinvolved, pulling up the SG tab there is a link for expense forms that says Jaquline LaBayne and Kyle MacDonald were funded $789 on multiple t-shirts, soccer guy didn’t have money, and Marianna Alex and Edward Perez were funded by $2,000 by Turning Point USA and it was on public record Steed asked if Carter was a member of turning point USA? Carter answered a proud member but is not a senator so this does not serve as a conflict of interest Steed mentioned he is in Turning Point on his campus and how it has financial tie to the candidates who are running?
