SZYMON DRZYŻDŻYK sin That is why the healing presented in the pages of the New Testament appear to be signs of man‘s liberation from the situation caused by sin.99 Christ lived on earth in a situation similar to ours in all things but sin (cf Heb 4:15) He reveals himself as the one who through his passion, took upon himself all weaknesses (cf Is 53: 4-5) and passed through death in the glory of the Father and is no longer subject to suffering and death Suffering, however, has entered into the existence of the members of his mystical body That is why it is said today that suffering is the cross of its members.100 The sufferings endured by the members, however, are transient, and in sight of future glory (cf Cor 4, 17) appear to be small This suffering, however, plays an important role, which is conformity to Christ In this perspective, every sick person becomes a testimony for others to never forget about supernatural things.101 „The ecclesiological aspect is visible in the abandoning of the existing, kind of private nature of administering the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, looking out from an isolated environment.( ) Therefore, it is important to recall that the sick person is a privileged member of the Church that he is entitled to ask for the Church‘s special care with regard to both soul and body.“102 Sick people are not a burden for the Church, but are an expression of connectivity with the suffering Christ, of His passion and death, for the good people of God.103 Therefore, care for the sick is a task for all the faithful: the patient‘s family, pastors, medical staff, and doctors.104 The new ritual is not limited only to the liturgical aspect of care for the patient, but without a doubt this is the most important This is to be only one element of the wider pastoral care of the sick The very first chapter is entitled: Visiting the sick and begins with the words: „All Christians should participate in the caring love of Christ and His Church with respect to the patients Let them take care of them according to their capabilities, visit them and strengthen in the Lord and rush to them with fraternal help when it is needed.“105 The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is a particular expression of concern of Christ about the sick man He repeatedly expressed this task and instructed for it to continue in the Church The sacrament of the sick cf S.
