Jefferson County, pop 30,000, is located on the Olympic Peninsula in western Washington Port Townsend is the only incorporated city in the county and is the county seat Port Townsend is a spectacular Victorian seaport designated as a National Historic Landmark and famous for its Victorian Homes Tour, and Wooden Boats and Rhododendron Festivals The city has a population of approximately 9,300, though the city's spectacular festivals, art galleries, other unique attractions bring over a million visitors each year Jefferson County is also home to the beautiful Olympic National Park, which includes Pacific coastline, the Olympic Mountains, and a temperate rainforest Jefferson County Public Utility District No currently provides water, sewer, electrical and whole telecom services to eastern Jefferson County The PUD has approximately 18,500 electrical meters, 4,200 water meters, and 400 sewer customers Headquartered in Port Hadlock, the PUD has 43 employees and an annual budget of about $33 million The PUD is served by a board of three elected commissioners Reporting to the Electrical Operations Manager, the Electrical Engineer provides engineering services, through analysis for internal and external District customers, including system protection and coordination, load allocations, staking, system optimization, fault study, communication and automation, in compliance with District policies and applicable government standards Candidates must have knowledge in RUS construction standards and System of accounts, and should have knowledge of NESC, NEC, and IEEE This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in electrical engineering, or a closely related field Candidates must have a minimum of six (6) to ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in utility or power engineering Candidates must have Washington State PE or the ability to obtain one in months from hire date A qualified candidate early in their career with at least three years of experience with a PE seeking to further develop generalist skills in a RUS environment will be highly considered Jefferson County PUD is an equal opportunity employer First review: June 26, 2016 (open until filled) To apply online, visit Prothman at http://www.prothman.com/ and click on "Submit Your Application" and follow the directions provided Application materials will only be accepted electronically via the website For questions, please call 206-368-0050
