Parking and Shuttle Services PO Box 5603 Flagstaff, AZ 86001 928-523-6623 Nau.edu/parking ANNOUNCEMENT Summer and Fall 2013 With the spring semester coming to a close, and AY 1213 parking permits expiring August 15, 2013 Parking and Shuttle Services would like to provide you with information regarding summer and fall parking options. Changes/Construction Parking lots P9 (near Adel, bldg. 26), P10 (north of the north heating and cooling plant, bldg. 24), P11 (east of Peterson, bldg. 22), and P12 (near Liberal Arts), will be used as staging areas for upcoming construction. In an effort to improve safety for pedestrians, vehicles, and bicyclists, the current parking on Knoles between Tormey Avenue and Dupont Avenue will be changed from angle to parallel stalls. Singlespace meters will be installed near the W.A. Franke College of Business and Gammage this summer. Meters accept credit card payments only and will help to provide more short term parking options for visitors in smaller parking lots. Summer 2013 parking lot maintenance will focus predominately on the Knoles garage (P96A), the Mt View garage (P28C), and duBois (P45). Employee Parking Permits for 201314 (August 16, 2013 to August 15, 2014) will be available online starting June 1. Benefiteligible faculty and staff are encouraged to pay via payroll deduction (which is a pretax deduction). The AY 1314 employee permit for surface lots is $400. The AY 1314 garage permit for either the Riordan or San Francisco garage is $530. Employee day permits are available online at nau.edu/parking. Those who choose not to order a parking sticker may purchase and print a day permit from their home or office. The cost is $7 per day An eveningonly permit is available at a significantly reduced rate. The AY 1314 cost is only $200. This permit is valid in most lots (except P47, P35, P60, and Residential lots) after 4:30 PM A new shortterm parking option, “Pay by Space” is now available near Wall Aquatic (P7 – 6 spaces), the Union (P16 – 24 spaces), and duBois (P45 – 6 spaces). Guests park in a vacant space and use the nearby kiosk, with any major credit card, to cover their parking needs. The cost is $1.50 per hour for up to two hours. The Riordan and San Francisco garages both provide hourly parking with any major credit card. The cost is $2/hour or $10/day. Visitor/ShortTerm Parking Departments and event planners are responsible for notifying their campus guests about parking options. Online day permits ($7) are available for parking lots behind Cline (P13), near the McConnell entrance (P62), and at the Skydome (P66). The permit may be purchased at nau.edu/parking and printed from your home or office. A new shortterm parking option, “Pay by Space” is now available near Wall Aquatic (P7), the Union (P16) and duBois (P45). Guests park in a vacant space and use the nearby kiosk, with any major credit card, to cover their parking needs. The cost is $1.50 per hour for up to two hours. Daily permits ($7) for specific lots (P13, P62, P64, and P66) and eveningonly permit ($4 – valid from 4:30 PM) are available at any of the four kiosks at the campus entrances at McConnell Drive, University Drive, Riordan Road and San Francisco Street. Departments may order guest permits at a reduced daily rate of $4 instead of $7. These permits are for guests to campus and may not be issued to students, faculty or staff. Permits should be ordered at least 2 business days in advance. Please visit our website nau.edu/parking for additional information Free options Parking lots near the HLC (P7A), Wall Aquatic (P7), Cline (P13), and Pine Knoles Dr (P62) will remain free after 4:30 PM Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday ecoPASS stickers are available FREE to faculty and staff while supplies last, providing access to all Mountain Line bus service. The Mountain Line runs every day of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mountain Link, also known as Route 10, offers convenient service from downtown Flagstaff through campus to Woodlands Village and is free to faculty, staff and students with university ID. Bicycles Register your bike free of charge at the Parking and Shuttle Services office (bldg. 91) Bike racks are located close to most buildings There are designated lanes and paths across campus specifically for bicycles Bike lockers can be rented by the semester or year.
