by Chris and Tina Greten It’s a beautiful day After days of rain the sun finally warms the air again “Race you there” shouts Oops full of excitement The kids meet at the local park “Let’s go to the playground” calls Kitty The ground shakes as he lifts up his big legs and stomps quickly towards her “Watch out!” warns Oink “there’s a puddle” Oops stops in his tracks, “Oops!” But it’s too late Muddy water splashes all over Kitty “I’m so sorry Kitty” he whispers sadly “I didn’t mean to splash you” Oink and Hooter go on ahead while Oops waits for Kitty to dry off “Can you please play with me?” he asks When they reach the playground, Hooter is waiting on the bright red seesaw Oops can’t wait “Hang on, Hooter I’ll play with you I love seesaws.” With one big leap Oops lands on the seesaw “Oopsie!” Hooter’s side shoots up and sends him tumbling into the air “Good that you can fly already” sighs Oops relieved “I don’t think the playground works for me” thinks Oops sadly He walks slowly into the sandpit “Who would want to play with me?” “Hey Oops!” calls Blossom the fox from the hill next to the sandpit “Let’s play ball!” “Kick it to me!” yells Oops “Oops!” But as he turns around to kick the ball, his tail smashes into little Bunbun’s beautiful sandcastle “Please don’t cry little Bunbun” begs Oops “I didn’t it on purpose.” “Oiiink!” squeals Oink as the ball knocks over his cup of water Oops watches helplessly at the mess his misguided kick had created “Please watch where you’re kicking the ball, Oops! Now I have to get a new drink.” “Oops! I didn’t mean to knock over your drink, Oink.” Oops is sad “I’m breaking everything I’m not good to play with I wish I wasn’t so big and clumsy.” “Don’t be sad, Oops” comfort his friends “You’re our friend We love you the way you are.” .and just as they give Oops a big hug, a dark raincloud sends wet, cold raindrops showering down onto them The playground is getting soaked But the friends stay warm and dry under Oops’ huge body until the cloud moves on 10 Finally, the sun comes out again Everybody is happy “Nobody else could have kept us dry” states Kitty “You’re our hero!” “Thank you” smiles Oops “I guess being big is good for something.” 11 “Now let’s go jumping in muddy puddles!” ”Oh, Oops” “Not everybody loves jumping in muddy puddles ” 12 Oops and his friends are heading to the playground Everybody is having fun, but Oops is sad His size causes all kinds of trouble Who is going to play with him ever again?
