', nàng nói, lúc nàng ăn trứng - không trứng thông thường, họ ln chọn hồng hào cho nàng Example 6: This day’s adventure, however, did not turn out like yesterday’s, although it began like it [L1,P12,p26] If I apply word-for-word translation method for this phrase, I get “diễn ra” and this meaning is unsuitable with the context of this sentence I think, in social network, it shouldn’t be used this meaning In my opinion, I decided to choose the version “rẽ hướng” for this phrase Suggested version: Tuy phiêu lưu ngày hôm rẽ hướng khác ngày hơm qua, bắt đầu gần giống Example 7: And late in the afternoon the sun broke out so gloriously that Irene clapped her hands, crying [L11,P17,p29] If I apply word-for-word translation method for this phrase, I get “chui ra” and this meaning is propositions, we Student: Nguyen Thi Thu PhươngCode: ………… GRADUATION PAPER 53 Supervisor: Bui Thi Kim Phung Chi, M.A need to analyze all the grammar components in the sentence to be able to reveal all Thi Thu PhươngCode: ………… GRADUATION PAPER 61 Supervisor: Bui Thi Kim Phung Chi, M.A CHAPTER 5: DIFFICULTIES AND SOLUTIONS 5.1 Difficulties Graduation project is the final milestone of a student's life After years of university study, what has been learned and experienced is also time to be fully applied For me, this is a very important report that proves throughout my years of studying English major The book I choose to translate is the book: the princess and the goblins At first glance, they seem to be quite simple, but when I did research I encountered some difficulties with grammar and vocabulary As follows: First of all, in the process of translating I encountered many word problems Vocabulary is at the heart of language and is important for language learning During the translation process, if we misunderstand the meaning of the word, it can lead to distorting the content of the text or going in a different direction from the author's aim In order to properly convey the idea that the author convey to the readers, I have to look up the vocabulary on many different pages to find the words that match the context of the whole story This also takes a considerable amount of time in translating this book Next, I have a problem identifying pronouns In this story there are too many subjects and pronouns that can be misleading at translation I read it many times and spent a lot of time looking for pronouns that fit the context of the story Besides, I have to fluently translate and mix a bit of children to increase the appeal of this children's story In the end, the part that was most difficult for me was the grammar structure of the story There is a lot of knowledge that I have learned, but I don't apply it, so I gradually forget it This also takes a lot of time to study and review Although I trained carefully, there were some sentences in the text that were difficult to analyze, and sometimes I needed to consult the instructor so Student: Nguyen Thi Thu PhươngCode: ………… GRADUATION PAPER 62 Supervisor: Bui Thi Kim Phung Chi, M.A that she help me understand this structure In some other sentences, I choose to analyze them into many different meanings, then select which content is most suitable to apply to the story In short, in order to translate this story well, I also went through many difficulties Still, I feel happy that I have done something worthy of my four years of study No matter what, I hope my translation will make readers feel satisfied I will always make an effort to improve myself every day 5.2 Solotions Through a number of difficulties in the translation process, I have gained new experiences and knowledge to add to my knowledge Firstly, when encountering difficult and meaningful words, I choose the best dictionaries to translate such as: Cambridge dictionary or Oxford dictonary of english, to find the most suitable and best to apply in my exercises Next, I use search engines like: Google and youtube to find out the meaning of the idioms I researched from different sources to select the best meaning for idioms Besides, I also learn the author's writing style to understand more about his tone, from which I can best express my translation In the end, I schedule my own time so I can finish my graduation assignment quickly and effectively For the graduation lesson to achieve good results partly thanks to the great contribution of instructors: Bui Thi Kim Phung She is the one who directly helps me correct my mistakes, and urges us to our homework so that we can submit our assignments on time Thanks to you, my graduation project can be completed in the best, most obvious and fluent way Student: Nguyen Thi Thu PhươngCode: ………… GRADUATION PAPER 63 Supervisor: Bui Thi Kim Phung Chi, M.A CHAPTER 6: CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS 6.1 Summary of the Finding After completing this report, I have accumulated a lot of knowledge and experience during the translation process First, in the process of researching and translating, I feel that I still have many shortcomings and have not really mastered the necessary knowledge and skills for translation work Thanks to my perseverance and intense focus on research topics, I have acquired a lot of skills, knowledge, classification and proper word choice Besides, my vocabulary has also improved and improved unexpectedly The process of doing and reviewing old knowledge to apply in the translation process has helped me master the foundation of sentence structure and grammar Next, as a translator I understand the importance of being fluent in my mother tongue and other languages To become a good translator, we must always improve our knowledge about the culture, customs and habits of our country and neighboring countries Understanding the culture and national identity of each country helps us to add more knowledge when translating to make the translation richer and more inspiring A person with extensive knowledge and understanding of many different languages will have the opportunity and will always be given top priority Finally, It can be said that this is the most enthusiastic curriculum that I have ever done in the student life Challenging difficulties go hand in hand with satisfaction when applying all the knowledge learned to complete the thesis completely Student: Nguyen Thi Thu PhươngCode: ………… GRADUATION PAPER 64 Supervisor: Bui Thi Kim Phung Chi, M.A 6.2 Suggestions After I finish my graduation paper, I have some suggestions for learning and teaching 6.2.1 Suggestions for learning Four years is not too short nor too long, during those four years I have learned a lot of knowledge and gained experience in many fields As a student majoring in English, first of all, each student must have passion and enthusiasm for this subject With a strong passion, I believe that all difficulties and challenges are the driving force to motivate us to improve each day Me too, although I know that learning is not easy, but when you love the subject, everyone must have a way to overcome the difficulties But passion alone is not enough, we need to really seriously study and practice every day If we master all the knowledge then learning will become a lot easier Through this, I also would like to contribute a little opinion on the process of making projects Because the epidemic was so complicated, we also encountered many difficulties in the process of direct communication with the instructors Direct instruction is more effective in terms of results So I hope the project submission time will be more leisurely, not pressuring us, and create conditions for the teachers to have time to rest while still being able to correct the lesson in detail 6.2.2 Suggestions for students in Department of English During years of university, choosing Duy Tan university is the place to learn English is a right choice for me I would like to contribute some personal ideas to the university I hope it can be helpful First of all, we are majoring in English, we look forward to learning and chatting directly with foreign teachers to improve our English skills If possible, I hope that the school will organize field trips many times a year for students to improve Student: Nguyen Thi Thu PhươngCode: ………… GRADUATION PAPER 65 Supervisor: Bui Thi Kim Phung Chi, M.A their knowledge of translation Finally, The school should organize a few extra-curricular sessions a year so we can learn from the experts and have more memorable experiences REFERENCES I BOOKS  English books [1].Catford, J.C, (1965), A Linguistic
