Additional Commands
On LANE module:
Exact same configs as on a router, except for LEC:
Interface atm 0.1 multipoint
Lance client Ethernet 1 elan1
Maps the vlan 1 to elan1! Then can use sc0 in vlan1
On 1010, to point to the LECS through well known:
Atm lecs-address-default 47.000…
On LECS, if want to use a different address, use:
Lane config fixed-atm-address
Spot The Issue Notes
When using “lane config auto-config-atm-address”
in the LECS definition, this assumes that the
1010 switch is providing the LECS’ address
through the “well known NSAP address”. On the
1010, use “atm lecs-address-default 47.000…” and
point to the nsap address of the LECS router.
Use “show lane default” on the router and cut and
paste!!
Élan names are CASE SENSITIVE
The selector byte is the number of the sub-
interface on which the service resides. In HEX!!
• If possible (allowed) put all Lane services
on the same router instead of spreading it.
• You MUST put the services under sub-
interfaces except for LECS.
• Write down the sub-interface # because it
matters with the NSAP address of services
when mapping them. Check “show lane default”
to see the default nsap addresses with .**
• The value of the selector byte corresponds to
the sub-interface number of the atm interface
• Notice that in “show lane default”, the LECS
address is .00 while all others are .**.
This is because the LECS goes on the major
interface, while all others go on the sub
interface.
