Unit 14: Are there any posters in the room?

Lesson 1(1,2,3)

Preparing date: 14/ 01/ 2015 Teaching date: 20/ 01/ 2015 I .THE AIMS AND REQUESTS

1. Knowledge.

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer using pattern: Are there any

…….?; get acquainted to new words related to objects in the room.

2. Skills

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to develop language skills: listening, speaking and spoken interaction.

II. Methods:

-MAT (Model, Action, Talk), Communicative Approach, Audio-Lingual Approach and SA III. Teaching aids:

- Teaching plan, CD player, flash cards, pictures.

IV. Anticipated problems.

- Ss may confuse with the answers: “Yes, they are.” / “No, they aren’t.”

V. PROCEDURES.

1. Warm up.(2’)

- Has Ss recite the chant: “Where’s the book?”

2. Check up the old lesson.(3 )

-Has Ss stand up, asking and answering with the pattern: Is there a…….? about the house.

-Gives comments and compliments on Ss who do well.

3. New lesson.

-Has Ss repeat the steps with the rest pictures.

-Has Ss work in group of 4. T goes around and offer helps.

-Has some pairs point to the pictures and talk in front of the class.

-Correct Ss’ pronunciation when necessary.

-Tells the Ss that they are going to practise more with above pattern.

-Listen to the T to get acquainted to the communicative situation.

-Look and listen to the CD player.

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to develop language skills: listening, speaking and spoken interaction.

-MAT (Model, Action, Talk), Communicative Approach, Audio-Lingual Approach and SA III. Teaching aids:

- Teaching plan, CD player, flash cards, pictures.

- Ss may forget to add “s” to the end of the words.

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: pronounce the sound a and u; practice

pronouncing the words “fan” in “There’s a fan on the wall.” and “cup” in “ There’s a cup on the table.”; perform the chant: “How many desks?”

2. Skills.

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to develop language skills: listening, reading, and speaking.

II. Methods:

dictation by listening to the CD player and fill in the gaps with the words listened.

-Sets the time for Ss to read the sentences before starting the dictation

-Plays the CD player and has Ss do the task.

-Has Ss swap their books to check their answers before checking in front of the class.

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: listen to dialogues so as to tick the pictures mentioned; read and write the answers to the questions based on the text; read and write suitable words to complete a text about the dining room based on the picture and the content.

2. Skills.

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to develop language skills: listening, reading, and speaking through revision of sentence patterns and vocabularies.

II. Methods:

-MAT (Model, Action, Talk), Communicative Approach, Audio-Lingual Approach and SA III. Teaching aids:

- Ss may confuse between “ There is…..” and “There are….” when answering.
