- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: pronounce the sound / i:/ and /ɔ:/ ; practice pronouncing the words “reading” in “He’s reading.” and “drawing” in “She’s drawing a picture.”; perform the chant: “ What are you doing?”
2. Skills.
-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to develop language skills: listening, reading, and speaking.
II. Methods:
-MAT (Model, Action, Talk), Communicative Approach, Audio-Lingual Approach and SA III. Teaching aids:
- Teaching plan, CD player, handouts, IV. Anticipated problems.
- Ss may have difficulty pronouncing the word phrase: drawing a picture V. PROCEDURES.
1. Warm up.(4’)
- One St makes actions. Others mime and talk about what he/ she is doing.

2. Listen and write.(8’)
-Has Ss look at the open sentences in part 2 (page 56) and discuss to predict the words needed to fill in the gaps.
-Tells the Ss that they are going to do a
dictation by listening to the CD player and fill in the gaps with the words listened.
-Sets the time for Ss to read the sentences before starting the dictation
-Plays the CD player and has Ss do the task.
-Has Ss swap their books to check their answers before checking in front of the class.
-Plays the CD player again and has Ss check up their answers.
-Gives answer keys: 1.reading; 2.drawing -Has some Ss read aloud their completion.
-Has the whole class read the two sentences to reinforce their pronunciation.

-Tells the Ss that they are going to practice with the chant: “What are you doing?”
-Uses the sub board to help Ss notice the chant.
-Look at the sub board and notice the letters coloured red

Unit 18: What are you doing?

-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: listen to dialogues so as to tick (ü) the picture mentioned; read and complete with the words give based on the text; write the answers to the questions based on the text about Quan’s family above.
2. Skills.
-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to develop language skills: listening, reading, and speaking through revision of sentence patterns and vocabularies.
II. Methods:

- Ss may forget the ending “s” of plural nouns when completing the sentences.

-Plays the recording for Ss to listen and tick (ü) in the box next to the pictures they hear.
-Selects some Ss to report the results.
-Has Ss swap their books in pairs and correct.
