To confirm no missing package in transit by checking case number - To confirm no damaged package in transit - To check contents for damage and shortage from the packing list Foundation preparation 2.1 Establishment of base line: Base lines for the utility boiler erection are the boiler centerline and drum centerline All reference lines are to be established from these base lines 2.2 Foundation and anchor bolts (holes) in the foundation shall be inspected prior to the placement of packer plates or equipment on the foundation - Foundation shall be checked for location and elevation using the reference lines and a benchmark Allowances are as follows o Foundation location ± 5mm (Difference between the actual centerlines and the reference lines) o Foundation elevation mm/m (1/1000) Grouting space under packer plates shall not be less than 20mm, or Page of 29 Rev A Method Statement for Auxiliary Boiler installation - NS2-DD09-P0ZEN-740005 more than 50mm, unless otherwise specified Correct by chipping and filling when necessary Anchor bolt locations and corresponding holes in the base plate of the equipment shall be checked to insure that all components match - Projection lengths of anchor bolts shall be enough so that the top of bolts shall be at least flush with the upper surface of nuts after placement of equipment and tightening bolts - Anchor bolts shall be straight and plumb and have no damaged threads Anchor bolts, which are damaged or improperly located, shall be repaired or replaced However all anchor bolts, which are not located in the proper position, shall be Replaced 2.3 Packer plate setting - Packer plates are used to secure the elevation of equipment installation Their sizes are not restricted but 100 x 50 x 10mm in general, and not to be protruded from base plates - Quantity of packer plates shall be decided to allow the grout under the packer plates to endure the load installed Because, until the base plate is grouted properly the packer area supports whole weight of the equipment installed - For the arrangement of packer plates, the stability of the equipment installed on them shall be considered - The foundation surface to be grouted shall be chipped to remove inferior quality of the surface and also to coarsen the surface for grouting - Put the adequate quantity of mixed grout with minimum water (Cement / Sand ratio by volume is approx 0.5) on the specified position of the foundation surface prepared previously Then put immediately the packer plate on it and set its surface horizontally in the specified height as soon as possible Drawing preparation - Anchors and packer plates shall be previously installed in conformance with drawings, and at proper elevation, lines and level prior to installing structural members - Final tightening or welding of connections shall not be performed until whole of the individual structure has been properly aligned - All joint surfaces, including those adjacent to bolt heads, nut and washers, shall be free of loose scale, burrs, dirt or other foreign material that would prevent solid seating of the parts Tightly adherent mill scale is acceptable - Drift pins may be used to assist in the alignment of members, but shall not be used to force improperly fabricated pieces into place Minor misalignment of bolt holes may be corrected by reaming - Field welding of structure shall be performed as shown on drawings - Some structure members that may obstruct the subsequent erection works shall be installed afterwards 6.3.2 Bolt connections - Bolted parts shall fit solidly together when assembled and shall not be separated by gaskets or any other interposed material - The slope of surfaces of bolted parts in contact with the bolt head shall not exceed 1:20 with respect to a plane perpendicular to the bolt axis Beveled washers shall be used if Page of 29 Rev A Method Statement for Auxiliary Boiler installation NS2-DD09-P0ZEN-740005 o Machinery, equipment must have adequate safety devices such as fuses, relays, Automatic circuit breakers o Grinding and cutting machines have been protected from flying stones, grinding and cutting wheels must be checked regularly to detect problems -
