LCD Monitor Service Guide Disassembly & Re-assembly Models: MM17T/TE MM19SE/TE V01 Version Issue Date Remarks V01 2006/06/26 First release 1 Overview Please pay special attention to the precautions as follows to prevent any damages to the LCD Monitor and also select the appropriate tools for disassembly and re-assembly. Precautions CAUTIONS Before you performing any service and/or repair on the LCD Monitor, please follow the steps below first. 1. Make sure all power connection is removed. Be sure that the LCD Monitor is in power off status. 2. Hold LCD by the side carefully and DON”T touch or press panel directly. 3. Remove all rings, watches and any other metal objects from your hands which possible to cause scratch. 4. Always wear a ground strap or anti-static glove to protect the parts from static discharge. 2 Suggest Tools TOOLHere are some tools that can be used for the LCD monitor’s service and repair. Phillips-head Screwdriver Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to fasten/remove the K- or B-typed screws. CROSS SCREW- DRIVER P/N: N/A Gloves To protect LCD Panel and your hand GLOVES (SOFT) P/N :( L) 16-003300131 (M) 16-003300130 C/D Disassembly Tool Use a pair of C/D Disassembly Tool to open C/D item. TOOL FOR OPEN FORNT BEZEL P/N: 13GV0400PZZZZ Spacer Screwdriver Use a spacer screwdriver to fasten/remove spacer screws or hex screws. SPACER SCREW- DRIVER P/N: N/A 3 Disassembly procedure 3 – 1 W5N Disassembly Procedure Please follow the information provided in this section to perform the complete disassembly procedure of the LCD monitor. Be sure to use proper tools described in the previous chapter. SUS MM17T and MM19 SE/TE LCD monitor consist of various subsystem. This section describes the procedures for LCD monitor disassembly. In addition, the detailed disassembly procedures of individual modules will be provided for your service needs. The disassembly procedure consists of the following steps: A • I. Stand Subsystem • II. LCD Subsystem • III. Front Bezel Subsystem • IV. Boards Subsystem I. Stand Subsystem STAND The illustration below shows how to remove the stand subsystem. STAND SUBSYSTEM REMOVAL 1. Unlock the clips and take out the base (A). 2. Remove 4 screws on the Back Cover. A 3. Pull the stand (B) downward to separate from Back Cover. B 5 II. LCD Subsystem LCD MODULE The illustrations below show how to remove the LCD panel from the LCD Subsystem. A. Removing Back Cover LCD SUBSYSTEM REMOVAL 1. Remove 5 screws. 6 2. Insert the sticker in the gap and slide along the side to dismount back cover. 7 8 B. Removing Main Shield MAIN SHIELD REMOVAL 1. Remove 4 screws. 9 2. Unplug LCD-inverter cables (A), key-control cable (B) and speaker cables (C).
