ME-430 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN PhotoRender Pump Housing Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire Dr Herli Surjanhata The concept of PhotoRender can be described the followings Retrieve the Model Define and set appearances for the part or surfaces Define a rendering room Create and position lights Move and rotate the model until you achieve the desired view Render Model Open the part file pump_housing.prt From View pull down menu, select Color and Appearance Assign the desired color to the part The view shown on the left is in isometric view From View pull down menu, select Model Setup -> Render Control Click on to define a rendering room setting First orient the object so that it is sitting on the floor of the room While the object and the room in shaded view, using the Floor thumbwheel, rearrange the position of the floor so that the pump housing appears sitting on the floor Floor is too high overlapping the object Object is sitting on the floor Select the Rotate tab Choose Room locked to Model By spinning the object, the room will also spin in sync with the object Select the Display tab, and select the Wireframe option Select the Modify perspective icon The Perspective dialog box will appear To zoom in, use either the Eye Dist slider or the Zoom slider Sliders under Rotate Eye and Pan Eye will change the pan location Use dynamic spin to affect the orientation of the model Leave the Type as Fly Through Increase the View Angle value to get more of a "slanted" perspective of the model See Figure for the perspective orientation of the model Change the Display Options back to Shaded Apply the Floor texture Double click the Floor box Room Appearance Editor dialog box opens Pick Make sure the Map tab is selected Under Color Texture, pick the texture box The Appearance Placement dialog box opens From Texture pull down menu, select Add or click Navigate the textures directory, and select the desired texture as the floor Click the Preview button to see the texture In this case, select misc directory, and pick blk-wwht-grid.tx3 as texture to be added Click Open Pick the selected texture e.g blk-wwht-grid.tx3 as the texture for the floor Ensure that the Multiple radio button is enabled Manipulate the X and Y thumbwheels under Copies until more realistic configuration is obtained Click OK once the desired pattern is obtained Repeat the same techniques to change the texture of the walls Click the Wall tile, and navigate through the graphic-library to the desired texture as before In this case, the graphic-library\textures\brick\stretchr.tx3 Manipulate the X and Y thumbwheels under Copies until more realistic configuration is obtained Select the Modify rendering settings icon 10 Change the Quality setting from Draft to High or Maximum, and set any attributes such as shadows or reflections Click Click to render the image 11 Click to add a new spot light Manipulate the spot light angle if desired 12 Click to render it again Click to save the image 13 Select the desired format for the image In this case, jpeg format is chosen Click OK The image is then can be inserted into Word document or PowerPoint slide 14 ... room in shaded view, using the Floor thumbwheel, rearrange the position of the floor so that the pump housing appears sitting on the floor Floor is too high overlapping the object Object is sitting
