The T1/E1 Service Delivery Experts The Soneplex E1 Quad Loop Extender (EQLX) Four-Position Remote Chassis houses up to four EQLX modules and optional line termination unit, power supply unit, E1 alarm processor unit and E1 craft/performance monitoring module at the customer premises, for termination of two protected or unprotected optical E2 circuits (or up to eight E1s). ADC’s Soneplex system is the lowest total cost solution for carriers to grow their E1-based business services. Focused on providing flexible, end-to-end solutions, the Soneplex system saves carriers money on E1-based services over copper or fibre, using HDSL or optical E2 technology, in a single platform. From operations, maintenance, provision- ing and high-speed backbone connections to central office space and cabling, the Soneplex system is designed to take costs out of today’s E1 delivery approach, adding profit to your bottom line. Two EQLX modules are deployed for unprotected applications; four EQLX modules are used for 1+1 protection. The chassis includes two fibre storage areas, eight E1 termina- tions (RJ48C, RJ48X or wire-wrap) and power and alarm terminations. Designed for wall mounting, an optional rack mount bracket is available. This flexible system includes a number of options: a power supply unit, line terminating unit, E1 alarm processor unit, and a E1 craft perfor- mance monitoring module. A power supply unit (PSU) permits use of 110/220 VAC current when -48 VDC power is not available. Two models are available, one with a single power supply, the other with two redundant supplies. Each power supply unit is field replaceable. Communicating with the ECPM module, the EAPU provides local alarm reporting and up to eight housekeeping alarms are supported. The alarm cut-off (ACO) switch and LED indicators are found on the front panel of the EAPU.
