Lesson 1: Listen and read I Objectives:

Teacher: textbook, stereo, CD, poster , pictures Student: textbook

III Procedure A.Warm up.

- Step 1: Show the pictures in the page 18 and elicit Do you know them in English? Is this a mobile phone?

- Step : Have ss to match the objects with their names in one minute - Step 3: Get answers from ss, then write the key on board

B New lesson.

-Introduce the lesson by eliciting: What we you use these things for? Are they used in making

Ask ss to read through the dialogue then elicit:

Who are talking on phone? What are they going to ?

Step 3:

Play the CD on the stereo for ss to listen

Step 4:

Introduce the vocabularies and structures

Vocab:

- outside and inside ( with a picture)

- downstairs and upstairs( with a picture)

Listen and answer:

Possible answers: For making arrangements Yes, they are

Possible answers: Hoa and Nga

They are going to see a movie

Structure: Be going to

Show a poster of Lan’s plan and elicit:

What is Lan going to next Sunday/ tomorrow ?

Next Sunday: go for a picnic Tomorrow: visit my grandpa

Write the sentences from ss and ask them about the use of the form: be going to : When we use it ?

Step 5:

Read out the dialogue and have ss repeat it

Step 6:

Ask ss to have role play with the dialogue

Step 7:

Ask ss to read the dialogue

again( silent reading ) then to have pair work to answer the questions to find who make actions

Take the answers and give possible correction

Possible answers:

She is going for a picnic

She is going to visit her grandma

Listen and repeat

Have role-play

Read the dialogue and answer the questions in pairs
