I Aims: Sts can sing “ The Hello Song ” Sts identify names of Let’s Go characters

II Preparing materials: puppets, cassette, tape player III Activity teachings:

Act 1: Warm-up and Review

-Sts walk around the classroom and greet each and teacher in English S1 : Hello, I am ( Kate ).

S2 : Hi, my name is ( John ). - Give marks

Act : Presentation.

a Review the question and answer

-Use puppets to model the question and answer Puppet A : What’s your name ? Puppet B : My name is ( Kate ).

-Sts repeat three times in chorus at natural speed b Practice

-Divide the class into groups and practice the question and answer pattern c Combine the greetings and the question

-Use puppets to model the dialogue

Puppet A : Hello My name is ( John ).What’s your name? Puppet B : Hi My name is ( Kate ).

-Have the class practice in two groups, using their own names Act 3: Open your books.

-Open your book to page and show it to the Sts Point out the characters and name them The Sts repeat the names

-Sts open their books to page Play the cassette The Sts listen and point to John when they hear his name Stop the cassette after verse

-Play verse again Sts sing along

-Play the rest of the song Sts listen and point to the characters as they hear their names

Act 4: Practice.

-Sing the song into groups Group A sings the verse 1, group B sings the verse 2, after all sing the last verse

-Divide the class into six groups to sing the song Each group will be one of the characters on the page

V Consolidation.

- T guides sts exercise in this page at class and give marks

-Sing the Hello song and have the Sts substitute their own names Repeat several times, pointing to individual Sts to sing the line My name is ( John ) V Homework.

- Sts learn by heart the lesson

-Sts write each word three lines in their notebooks - Sts prepare the new lesson
