(1)MẠO TỪ I Định nghĩa mạo từ ?
- Mạo từ từ trước danh từ nhằm cho biết danh từ nói đến đối tượng xác định hay không xác định
- Mạo từ “The” dùng để đối tượng xác định
- Mạo từ “A/An” dùng nói đến đối tượng chưa xác định
- Mạo từ loại từ riêng biệt, chúng xem phận tính từ dùng bổ nghĩa cho danh từ
II Phân loại mạo từ tiếng Anh
- Mạo từ tiếng anh gồm loại bao gồm: + Mạo từ xác định (Definite article): the + Mạo từ bất định (Indefinite article): a, an - Mạo từ xác định
+ Dùng mạo từ xác định “the” trường hợp sau: + Sự vật, việc kể đến hai lần
+ I live in a house The house is very big
+ He has two children: a daughter and a son The daughter is a pupil The son is very small + Chỉ yếu tố nhất: the sun, the earth, the moon, the sea…
+ Đứng sau tính từ:
The poor: người nghèo
The young: người trẻ tuổi
The old: người già
The rich: người giàu có
+ Trước từ tên riêng
+ Ví dụ: the Nile, the Bach Dang hotel, the Mekong river, the Himalaya, the Buc Tuong… + Chỉ quốc tịch: the Chinese , the Vietnamese, ……
+ Trước tên tổ chức, nhiều bang: the United Nations, the United States the Asian III Cách sử dụng mạo từ Tiếng Anh
1 Mạo từ “A/ An” *Cách dùng mạo từ an
- Mạo từ an dùng trước từ bắt đầu nguyên âm (dựa theo cách phát âm, khơng dựa vào cách viết)
Ví dụ: Mạo từ kèm với từ có bắt đầu a, e, i, o: an apble an aircraft, an egg, an object
(2)Ví dụ đặc biệt mạo từ kèm với từ viết tắt: an S.O.S ( tín hiệu cấp cứu ), an MSc (một thạc sỹ khoa học), an X-ray ( tia X )
*Cách dùng mạo từ a
- Chúng ta dùng a trước từ bắt đầu phụ âm nguyên âm có âm phụ âm Ngoài chúng bao gồm số trường hợp bắt đầu u, y, h
- Đứng trước danh từ mở đầu “uni…” phải dùng “a” (a university/ a uniform/ universal)
- Dùng trước “half” (một nửa) theo sau đơn vị nguyên vẹn: a kilo and a half, hay ghép với danh từ khác để nửa phần (khi viết có dấu gạch nối): a half – share, a half – day (nửa ngày)
- Dùng với đơn vị phân số 1/3 a/one third – 1/5 a /one fifth
- Dùng thành ngữ giá cả, tốc độ, tỉ lệ: $4 a kilo, 100 kilometers an hour, times a day
- Dùng thành ngữ số lượng định như: a lot of/ a couple/ a dozen
- Dùng trước số đếm định thường hàng ngàn, hàng trăm a/one hundred – a/one thousand
*Phân biệt cách sử dụng mạo từ “A” “An”
- Mạo từ “a”: dùng trước danh từ số bắt đầu phụ âm (trong cách phát âm cách viết)
Ví dụ: a game, a cat, a king, a uniform
- Mạo từ “an”: dùng trước danh từ số bắt đầu nguyên âm (trong cách phát âm cách viết)
Ví dụ: an actor, an hour, an SOS, an MV (Music Video) Mạo từ “The”
*Các dùng chung mạo từ xác định “the”
- The dùng danh từ đối tượng người nói lẫn người nghe biết rõ đối tượng đó: đối tượng ai,
Khi vật thể hay nhóm vật thể xem

Trước danh từ danh từ vừa để cập

The dùng trước danh từ riêng biển, sông, quần đảo, dãy núi, tên gọi số nhiều nước, sa mạc, miền
The Pacific, The United States , the Alps
The + of + danh từ The North of Vietnam, The West of Germany The + họ (ở dạng số nhiều) có nghĩa Gia đình The Smiths
Dùng “the” ta nhắc đến địa điểm khơng sử dụng với chức
They went to the school to see their children
*Trường hợp mà bắt buộc phải dùng mạo từ “the”
- Khi danh từ cho Ví dụ: the Sun, the Moon, the Earth… - Khi nói đến số thứ tự Ví dụ: the first, the second…
- Với cấu trúc “The + ADJ (tính từ)” để nhóm đối tượng cụ thể mang đặc điểm tính từ Ví dụ: the old and the young (người già người trẻ), the rich (người giàu), the poor (người nghèo)…
- Với cấu trúc “The + last name (ở dạng số nhiều)” để dòng họ, gia đình Ví dụ: The Jacksons (gia đình Jackson), The Smiths (gia đình Smith)…
- Với tên dãy núi quần đảo, sông, biển, đại dương, sa mạc Ví dụ: the Red River (sơng Hồng), the Pacific Ocean (Biển Thái Bình Dương)…
- Với tên loại nhạc cụ nói chung Ví dụ: the piano, the trumpet…
- Với tên đất nước có chứa từ: “kingdom, states, republic, union” Hoặc với tên đất nước có hình thức số nhiều tên
*Một số trường hợp không dùng mạo từ “A – An – The”
- Không dùng mạo từ cho danh từ số nhiều, danh từ đếm mang nghĩa nói chung
- Khơng dùng mạo từ trước:
Tên gọi bữa ăn (dinner, launch…)
Tên gọi ngôn ngữ (English, Vietnamese…)
Tên gọi môn thể thao (soccer, volleyball…)
Tên gọi hầu hết đường, thành phố, đất nước… (Doan Ke Thien Street, Ly Thai
(4)- Không dùng mạo từ muốn nhấn mạnh đến hành động diễn địa điểm thay thân địa điểm Các danh từ thường thấy trường hợp gồm: school, hospial, university
