- Students may not be familiar with format of an announcement and the language Used in it, so teacher should be ready to assist them

Aim:
- To draw students’ attention and to motivate them - To lead students to the topic of the lesson
A matching exercise
Instruction: Read different announcements and match these
announcements with the correct titles
-T divides the class into groups of or and distributes them the handouts The winning group is the one to finish first -T checks (T points out that Ss can tell what the
announcements are about just by looking at the 1st sentence in each announcement
-T gives some occasions in which English native speakers write an announcement (eg: The birth of their children, the death of a close relative, the engagement of wedding of their children, the retirement of an employee, an upcoming sport, social, or professional event etc.)
