I The Present Simple Facts which are always true
The Present simple is used to describe facts in science, and geographical descriptions
Eg: The light from the sun takes 8minutes and 20 seconds to reach to the Earth Habitual actions
A frequency adverb is often used to describe habitual actions Frequency

Eg: I usually take the bus to work Making declarations
Verbs describing opinions and feeling tend to be state verbs Eg: I hope you will come to my birthday party
4 Headlines
These are written in a "telegram" style, and references to the past are usually simplified to present simple

- Instructions and recipes can be written in present simple instead of in imperative forms This style is more personal

III Problems with Simple and Continuous
1 State Verbs are not used in the Present Continuous , because they describe activities which already extend in time These are sometime called "state meaning"
