I. VOCABULARY : Page 106 in Textbook II GRAMMAR
A ADJECTIVES AND ADVERBS - (Tính từ trạng từ)
1 Tính từ: - Đứng trước danh từ: adj + N Ex: She is a good student - Sau động từ to be ex: He is tall
- Sau động từ liên kết như: become, get, feel, look, seem, taste, smell, sound, … Ex: The coffee smells good
- Sau đại từ bất định: something, anything, everything, nothing, somebody, someone, anybody, anything,… Ex: Is there anything new?
2 Trạng từ:
- Đứng sau động từ thường ex: She drives carefully
- be + adv + V3/-ed ex: The house was completely destroyed
Note: trạng từ well đứng sau động từ “to be” để sức khỏe Ex: I’m not very well - Cách thành lập trạng từ: thêm –ly vào sau tính từ

- Một số từ vừa tính từ, vừa trạng từ: fast (nhanh), hard, early, late (trễ) Ex: He drives very fast / She works hard
3 Tính từ + Mệnh đề
Một số tính từ cảm giác như: glad, happy, pleased, delighted, excited, sorry, disappointed, amazed, có mệnh đề theo sau
Ex: We are glad that everyone came back home safely
B ADVERB CLAUSES OF REASON (MỆNH ĐỀ TRẠNG NGỮ CHỈ LÝ DO)
* Mệnh đề trạng ngữ lý mệnh đề phụ thường bắt đầu liên từ: because, since, as (do; vì; vì)
S1 + V (main clause) + because/ since/ as + S2 + V (adverb clause of reason) Ví dụ:
- I turned the heating on because it was cold (Vì trời lạnh nên tơi mở lị sưởi.)
(2)- Since he had not paid his bill, his electricity was cut off (Vì anh khơng tốn hố đơn, nên điện bị cắt.)
* Because of: S + V + because of + noun/ noun phrase
Ex: - We cancelled our flight because the weather was bad = We cancelled our flight because of the bad weather (Chúng tơi phải hủy chuyến bay thời tiết xấu.)
* Lưu ý:
Mệnh đề trạng ngữ lý đứng trước sau mệnh đê Khi mệnh đề trạng ngữ đứng trước, hai mệnh đề có dấu phẩy (,)
Ví dụ:
- Since/As/ Because he won't help me, I must the job myself (Vì anh khơng giúp tơi nên tơi phải tự làm việc đó.)
C ADJECTIVE + THAT CLAUSE (TÍNH TỪ + MỆNH ĐỀ THAT)
* Mệnh đề that (that clause) thường dùng sau tính từ diễn tả cảm xúc chắn,
Một số tính từ thường sử dụng: good, pleased, angry, sad, excited, disappointed, delighted, glad, afraid, sorry, relieved, worried, surprised, amazed, happy, thankful, certain, sure, wrong, true, Cấu trúc: S + to be + adj + that-clause
Ví dụ:
- I'm disappointed that you failed the exam (Tơi thất vọng bạn trượt kì thi.) - I'm surprised that he didn't come (Tôi ngạc nhiên không đến.)
* Ở mệnh đề that sau tính từ important (quan trọng), essential (thiết yếu), necessary (cần thiết), urgent (khẩn cấp), imperative (khẩn cấp), advised (được khuyên), suggested (được đề nghị), recommended (được giới thiệu), động từ phải giả định dùng cấu trúc:
S + should + V (bare infinitive) Ví dụ:
- It is essentiel that he study hard (Điều thiết yếu cậu phải học chăm chỉ.) D Câu điều kiện loại I
- Câu điều kiện loại I gọi câu điều kiện có thực - Điều kiện xảy tương lai
Cấu trúc - Công thức câu điều kiện loại 1 If + S + V (hiện tại), S + will + V (nguyên mẫu)
EX: If you come into my garden, my dog will bite you (Nếu anh vào vườn tơi, chó tơi cắn anh đó.)
If it is sunny, I will go fishing (Nếu trời nắng tốt, câu cá.) Cách dùng câu điều kiện loại 1:
