UNIT 12: THIS IS MY HOUSE LESSON : PART 1,2,3

Class : 4A, 4B

Date of teaching : 9/2, 10/2/2017

I Aim: By the end of the lesson,Ss will be able to identify rooms in the house

II.Language contents:

a.Vocabulary: living room, bathroom, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, garden b.Sentence pattern: There is a garden.= There's a garden

c Skill: listening , speaking and writing

III.Techniques: Slap the board

IV Resource and teaching aids: - Resource: Book page 12

- Teaching aids: Cassette, pictures, extra paper

V.Procedure:

1 Warm-up( minutes)

- Have Ss to talk about their family members - Give comments and checks their pronunciation

2 Presentation:(10 minutes)

@ T explain the new words and reads them Ss listen and read chorally and individually

- living room (picture): phòng khách - bathroom (picture): phòng tắm

- bedroom (picture): phòng ngủ - dining room(picture): phòng ăn

- kitchen (picture) : nhà bếp - garden (picture) : vườn

- house (picture): nhà @ Game: Slap the board

@ Explain sentence pattern: There is a garden = There's a garden

3 Practice:(13 minutes)

1- Look, listen and repeat (page 12)

Tell Ss to identify the rooms in the house

-Have Ss look at pictures to discuss the contexts in which the language is used - Play the recording a few times

Tell Ss to identify the rooms in the house using sentencess: There’s a and give expression with: It’s very nice.

-Have Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used in different contexts @Model:

A: There’s a living room/kitchen/bathroom/bedroom/dining room/garden.

B: It’s very nice

- Tell Ss to practise introducing one’s friend and responding to the introduction in pairs by using the prompts in the bubbles

- Go round collects Ss’ mistakes - Have Ss to correct their mistakes

- Check as a class and correct pronunciation - Call some pairs to act out in front of the class

4 Personalization:(6 minutes) 3- Let's talk (page 12)

Tell Ss revise what they have learnt in Part and in real context - Remind Ss how to use:

“There’s a ” to identify the rooms in the house and give expression with: It’s very nice.

- First, get one St to act as Quan in the picture to identify the rooms in the house, get another St to act as Nam to give expression using:

-“ There’s a ” + It’s very nice. - Put the sentences on the board

- Let Ss in open pairs, close pairs - T corrects the pronunciation if necessary

- T calls some groups to act out in front of the class

5 Homework:(1 minute)

- Learn by heart: New words and question - Prepare: Unit 12(cont): Lesson page 13

II.Language contents:

a.Vocabulary: clean, way

b.Sentence pattern: Revision: This is a house There is a bedroom c Skill: listening , speaking and writing

III.Techniques:

IV Resource and teaching aids: - Resource: Book page 13

- Teaching aids: cassette, pictures, extra paper

V.Procedure:

1 Warm-up:(5 minutes)

@Game: Slap the board : rooms

- Have Ss to identify the rooms in their house - Give comments and checks their pronunciation

2 Presentation:(7 minutes)

@ New words:

- clean (explanation) : lau chùi - way (explanation): cách

3 Practice: (13 minutes) 4- Listen and tick.

- Have pupils look at pictures a, b, c and d on page 12 of the Student Book - Elicit the identification of the rooms in the pictures

- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear

- Have Ss to guess the answer

- Play the recording times pupils to listen and tick the boxes - Have Ss to compare the answer with the partner

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers - Have Ss give the answer

*Tell Ss to fill the gaps with This is and There is

- Have Ss to look at the pictures a few seconds to understand how the language is used in each picture

- Focus Ss which room is in the house

- Remind Ss that only to write the name of each room to fill the gaps individual - Go around and offer help

- Check as a class

- Get Ss to read aloud the complete sentences

4 Personalization:(9 minutes) 6- Let's sing

- Play the recording and listen the The way I clean my house song.

- Play the recording again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm

- Call on a group of six to the front of the class and the actions The others clap their hands after the song

- Group work Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups - Monitor the activity and help them when necessary

- Correct pronunciation Ss’ errors

- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm

- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation - Calls some groups to act out in front of the class.

5 Homework:(1 minute)

- Learn by heart: the alphabet

- Prepare: Unit 12(cont) Lesson page 14
