(Ngữ pháp tập đầy đủ) So sánh với tính từ ngắn
Tính từ/trạng từ ngắn tính từ/trạng từ có vần, ví dụ như: long, short, tall, high Những tính từ/trạng từ có hai vần tận bằng: y, “er” "ow" xếp vào loại tính từ/trạng từ ngắn Ví dụ như: happỵ (hạnh phúc, vui vẻ), clever (thông minh, lanh lợi), narrow (hẹp)
* Một số tính từ/trạng từ ngắn em cần nhớ :
slim (thon thả), weak (yếu), strong (khỏe), thin (ốm), big (lớn), small (nhỏ), tall (cao), short (ngắn), long (dài), high (cao)
Cách thành lập tính từ so sánh hơn:
Để thành lập tính từ so sánh hơn, ta thêm ER vào sau tính từ (tính từ ngắn) S1 + am/is/are + adj_ER + than + S2.
Eg Hoa is taller than Mai.
Minh is smaller than her mother Ngoại lê
*Good/well=> better *bad/badly/ill => worse *little => less
*Much/many=> more *far => farther/further
*quiet=> quieter more quieter *clever=> cleverer more clever *narrow => narrower more narrow *simple => simpler more simple
2 So sánh với tính từ/trạng từ dài: Tính từ/ trạng từ dài tính từ/ trạng từ có âm tiết trở lên mà không tận đuôi: Y, OW, ER
Tính từ dài: S1 + am/is/are + more + adj + than + S2 ….
Trạng từ dài: S1+ V(chia) + more + adv + than + S2 My school is more beautiful than your school
– Ví dụ: My ruler is cm long Nam’s ruler is cm long
–> My ruler is shorter than Nam’s.(thước kẻ nhắn thước kẻ Nam) –> Nam’s ruler is longer than mine
(2)Chú ý:
• Khi thêm “er” nhân đơi phụ âm cuối trước ngun âm Ví dụ: hot –> hotter
fat –> fatter thin –> thinner fit –> fitter
• Một số tính từ có hai âm tiết kết thúc “et, ow, le, er,y” áp dụng qui tắc tính từ ngắn
Ví dụ: quiet –> quieter clever –> cleverer simple –> simpler narrow –> narrower
• Khơng có dạng phủ định so sánh A is taller than B –> B isn’t as tall as A (không viết: B isn’t taller than A)
3 So sánh ngang bằng
– Công thức: S1 + V(chia) + as + adj/adv + as + S2
– Ví dụ: Lan is 16 I’m 16, too Lan is as young as I am.(Lan trẻ tôi) * Hoa runs as fast as me
4 So sánh kém
– Công thức: S1 + do/does/did + not + V +
/ am/is/are/not so/ not as + adj/adv + as + S2

– Công thức: S + V(chia) + the + tính từ ngắn + est S + V(chia) + the + most + tính từ dài
– Ví dụ: This is the longest river in the world.(đây sông dài giới) She is the most beautiful girl in my class.(cô cô gái xinh lớp tôi)
– Bốn cấu trúc viết lời bình phẩm:
That’s/ it’s + the + tính từ ngắn + est + noun + S + have/ has + ever + P2. That’s/ it’s + the + most + tính từ dài + noun + S + have/ has + ever + P2. Ví dụ:
That’s the most interesting book I’ve ever read That’s the longest bridge I’ve ever seen
S + have/ has + P2 + a/any + tính từ ngắn + er + noun + than… S + have/ has + P2 + a + more + tính từ dài + noun + than… Ví dụ:
I’ve never read a more interesting book than this one I’ve never seen any/a longer bridge than this one – Giới từ cấp so sánh cao nhất:
+ in: với danh từ tổ, nhóm, nơi chỗ: in the group, in the company, in the world … + of: với danh từ thời gian: of the year, of the month, of one’s life…

Ví dụ: The more you learn, the more you know.(càng học bạn biết nhiều) The sooner you start, the earlier you arrive
• Cơng thức 2: the more + S + V, the comparative + S + V Ví dụ: The more you study, the smarter you will become

• Trong trường hợp hai vế có chủ ngữ giả 'it is' bỏ chúng The shorter (it is), the better (it is)
6 So sánh bội số
– So sánh bội số so sánh: nửa (half), gấp đôi (twice), gấp ba (three times), – Không sử dụng so sánh mà sử dụng so sánh bằng, so sánh phải xác định danh từ đếm hay không đếm được, đằng trước chúng có many/much Ví dụ:
This encyclopedy costs twice as much as the other one Jerome has half as many records now as I had last year
