Activity: Letter Writing Race Game - T ask Ss to open their notebooks
- T gives Ss minutes to write as many Qq’s as they can - Ss write as many Qq’s as they can
- The winner is the student who has written the most - T monitors and corect their mistake
3 New lesson (30’)

*Activitiy 1: Listen, point, repeat Colour (8’) - T introduction of letter r, Its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Rr

- T use a card with letter Rr or write on the board the letter Rr to introduce to the students the new lesson

(2)- Ask students how to pronouce the letter name and the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Rr The letter R makes the /r / sound
- Ss listen and repeat
- T ask Ss to repeat several times and check student’s pronunciation and its sound

- T use gestures (hand actions) to help students to understand the meanings of the three words - Ss check the meaning and repeat

- T ask Ss to work in groups T hangs out the photographs about the story and ask Ss to circle the letter

- T asks students look at the book and listen to the words: a robot, a rocket, a rabbit
- Ask Ss listen and repeat for several times - T put up the phonics cards on the board - T point to the card and say: Here is a rabbit.

- Ss point to the card and say: Here is a …… - T monitors and give feedback
Activity: Jumping Game (4’)
- T puts a line of masking tape on the floor - T designate one side True and the other False - T hold up a phonics card and say: rocket - Ss jump on the True side
- T hold up another phonics card (e.g: rabbit) and say: rocket
- Ss jump on the False side
- Do the same with another phonics card Activity Chant and show (7’)
- T put up the lyris of the chant on the board - Without music, use the phonics card and step Ss

Activity: Hot Cards (3’)
- T hand out the phonics card from the unit - Play the chant (Track 30)
- While the song is playing, the students pass the phonics card around
- T stop the song, the student holding the phonics card must say that word
- Ss say the word

Activity: Which One Is Missing?
- T puts the phonics cards face up on the table/stick them on the board - T gives the students a minute to look at the cards
- T asks Ss close their eyes and then you take away one cards - Ss close their eyes and then you take away one cards
- Then T tells the students to open their eyes and name the missing cards - Ss open their eyes and name the missing cards
- T monitors and correct their mistakes 3 New lesson (30’)

- T encourage the students to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says
- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the story once
- T play the CD again
- Ss listen and point to the pictures of the key words when they hear them in the story

- T ask Ss to name the items in the correct order - Do the same procedure with changing the order

- T puts the olive, orange and octopus phonics cards up on the board
- T point to the octopus and say: “Here is a rocket for a robot and ask Ss to repeat.
- Follow the same procedure and present the rest of the song
- T play the CD
- Ss listen and sing along - T play the CD again
- Ss sing and corresponding actions Activity: Step on It Game (5’)
- T puts the phonics cards in a circle on the floor - Play the song (Track 12)
- Sswalk around the cards
- T stop the music and name an item on one of the cards (e.g: orange)
- Ss race to step on that orange card
- The first student to step on it is the winner and name the card missing
