LESSON : A6 A.Objectives:

1 Aims:

- Read the text and understand about schools in the USA

- Talk about some differences between schools in the USA and schools in Viet Nam

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read the text for details and compare an American school with a Vietnamese school

2 Practice skill:

- Further practice speaking, reading and writing skill 3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge:

Read the text and understand about schools in the USA, correct the false sentences Summarize the main contents of the text through the correct sentences

Give out differrences with schools in Viet Nam

+ Advanced knowledge: Write a passage about schools in Viet Nam ( 5-10 sentences)

4 Basic language:

- Vocabulary: school uniform, a 20- minute break, cafeteria ,snacks, popular, baseball, football, to wear, to sell

- Structure: There is / are no

two twenty minute breaks the other

the most popular, after class activities 5 Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice reading for details B Teaching- aids:

Shark attack :

- T give the lines of some words and tell them that the words are about school

- T divide the class in to two teams and ask them to predict the letters of words

-III NEW LESSON

Step : Pre Reading(10ms) :

1 Vocabulary : Elicit – model – repeat – copy – check ( stress, pronuciation, part of speech)

Check voc : Rub out and remember

Write the phrases all over the board, each phrase in the circle

-Call on two teams of five students to the front of the class

-Call out the questions or staments and two ss run forward to slap the suitable answer on the board

-The student slapping the correct answer first gets on mark

-Go on untill all the words slapped True false prediction

- Give a poster of six staments ( on page 45 ) on the board

- Ask ss to keep their books closed and read the staments and guess which is true which is false

- Ask ss to work in pairs to guess - Give feedback

Step : While Reading(20ms) : Activity1: Checking prediction

- Have ss to read the text A6 on page 44 and check their prediction

- Ask ss to correct of the staments are false - Give feedback

+ Standard knowledge:

- Remember the books in the school library and prepositions of position - Ask and answer about the questions from a- g

- Tell at least one book in the school library and its position

+ Advanced knowledge: Describe all the kinds of the books in the school library and their positions
