Most places are very reasonably priced and serve extremely good quality food Fast food restaurants and drive-thru’s are a common sight in Canada Many international-brand restaurants can be found in Canada along with Canadian equivalents

Shopping in Canada is very good, especially in and around the major cities There are a lot of huge shopping malls, all with a wide variety of stores ranging from small specialist shops to large department stores

The types of souvenirs that are typically Canadian, however, include Native Canadian jewellery and crafts, and of course maple syrup

Tom: Sounds good! It’s essential for communication.

Lena: Actually, it’s difficult I also try to immitate the British accent but it seems

impossible

Tom: You don’t have to!

Lena: Why not? Don’t you think it would be best if you speak a language and have the

exact accent?

Tom: It’s ideal, but not a must.

Lena: Why not?

Tom: You see, the purpose is to communicate If you can communicate your ideas well, and

that is If you notice, the number of native speakers is just small compared to non-native speakers

Lena: Right.

Tom: And you see, people from Singapore and Malaysia not have American or British

accent but they use perfect English at work

Lena: You are right So I don’t think I will spend more time imitating British accent as I did

recently …

Tom: Instead you should spend a lot of time practising the four skills and enrich your

vocabulary
