Objective : - By the end of the lesson students will be able to listen for details to check True or False statements. 1. Vocabulary : - international bank(n) - improve(v) - understand(v) - useful(adj) 2. Grammar: simple present 3. Skills : speaking, writing B. Teaching aids: Textbooks,Tape,radio C. Methods: Lucky numbers, Pre- questions, True - False statements, Role play. D. Contents I : Organization Class Date of teaching Absent ss: 9A 9B II. Warm up: Information transmitting: - Divide the students into two teams. - Choose 6 volunteers each team. - The volunteers stand in 2 lines. - Show the first student ( in each line ) a sentence. - He/ she whispers the sentence to the next person in his/ her line. - The second student whispers to the third . and so on. - The last student shouts out the sentence, if it is the same as the sentence the teacher shows, that team wins the match. * Suggested sentences: I want to improve my writing/ reading/ listening skill. English is an interesting language and it’s very useful. III. New lesson: Teacher and students’ activities Content I. Pre – listening (10’): 1. Preteach Explain Trans example Check: R& R 2. T/f prediction * Set the scene: “Nga is talking to Kate about her studying English”. - Ask students to read the statements on page 35. - Have students work in pairs to predict which statement is true and which is false. - Give feedback. II. While – listening (15’): Teacher use the tape and asks students to listen and write True or False I. III. Post – listening (10’): Role – play: Now one of you is Nga and the other is interviewer Teacher gives the guided questions for interviewer. Example: Hello, Nga. Pleased to meet you Where …………………………? IV. Summary (2’): Listening to indentify the correct information. V.
