Replacement of segments 1-Prepration: -Tools :hoist ,spanner, impact wrench, torque wrench, air pipe - Man power: persons -Replacemet part: segment, heil-coil 2.Procedure -Dismounting of segment holders Note: The lifting tool has two lifting eyes Use the liftingeye for the rotor holder Position (I) to use for liftingthe rotor holder and position (II) to lift both rotor +stator holder lifting tool 1.Dismount the defibrator disc housing cover Remove the nuts and screws (A and B) in the disc housing screw joint 2.Remove all but two of the screws (O) for the segment holder of the rotor The two remaining screws should be removed, when the rotor holder has been secured to the lifting equipment (tool (R) and the hoist) 3.Attach the lifting tool (R) to the rotor segment holder only 4.Tighten the vertical adjusting screw towards the rotor slightly by hand if needed Attach the lifting tool with rotor segment holders to a suitable hoisting equipment (weights, see “Technical data”) Approximate weights EVO 64 5.Unscrew the two remaining screws (O), which hold the seg-ment holder of the rotor 6.Cautiously move the lifting tool with the rotor holder (about 2mm) against the stator with the hoisting equipment, and check that the segment holder are totally released from the rotor If t´s not, remount and knock cautiously on the screw (O) A B C D E F G K L M N O P Q R S Nuts Screw are hot flush the disc housing with air When the parts are below 80°C water can be used for cleaning -Clean all contact surfaces between the Defibrator and segment holders with a non abrasive tool -Also clean the screws and remove any dirt and fiber in the disc housing -Mounting of segment holders • Note Lubricate all screws before mounting Also check that the wear screws (Y), if any ,are not damaged Use the lifting eye for two holders A B C D E F G K L M N O P Q R S Nuts Screw Disc housing cover Rotor Segment holder, rotor Segment holder, stator Stator and disc housing Screw, segment Screw, segment holder stator Screw, segment Screw, segment Screw, segment holder rotor Sealing ring and disc housing Clamp Lifting tool TVD Move the lifting tool with the rotor segment holder attached and bring them towards the rotor Take care that the center spigot of the segment holder guides into the center of the shaft correctly Tighten of the segment holder screws (O) Take care that the center spigot of the segment holder guides into the shaft end correctly Remove the lifting tool (R) • Tighten the remaining screws (O,16pcs.) to correct torque, see “Technical data” Check all sealing rings and O-rings Replace, if necessary Clean the machined surfaces of the disc housing and disc housing cover 10 Mount the disc housing cover.Tighten to correct torque, see Technical data” Dismounting segments 1.Dismount the worn segments from the segment holders Clean the holders Clean the screw holes and the screws Use a rotating steel brush for the contact areas towards the Defi-brator and where needed at other areas Mounting segments Mount the center plate, if it has been replaced Tighten allscrews to correct torque, see “Technical data First mount the P-segment marked I+ +II on the periphery Push it outwards towards the guiding support Mount the next P-segment (marked II+ +III) and snug up the screws slightly Push it outwards towards the guiding support • Stator:  The segments for the stator side are not balanced and not need to be mounted in any specific order • Mount the center ring and tighten all screws to correct torque, see “Technical data” • Mount the P-segments with equal distances and tighten the screws slightly Push them outwards towards the guiding support • 3.Mount the C-segments between the P-segments and the center plate with equal distances and tighten the screws slightly (C segments is only applicable at sizes above 58”) • Tighten all screws to correct torque, see “Technical data”.Store segment holders with new segments in a dry place and in an area where there is no risk of damage Replacement of mechanical seal   • Turn off the water and steam supply and remove the hoses from the mechanical seal Plug all connection to prevent dirt from entering the system • 2.Remove the disc housing cover • 3.Remove the rotor, see “Replacement of rotor” • 4.Loosen the mechanical seal from the front end cover i.e remove the four screws 11 12 13 14 15 16 High seal housing The split ring now serves also as a “locking device”, which keeps the sleeve and the seal housing together during the removal Mount the washer (5) and attach the pull rods (13) to the split ring (6) 7.Remove the oil plug, marked “S”, in the shaft end and mount the oil nipple and the high pressure pump 8.Strap the mechanical seal to a lifting device Press in oil with the high-pressure pump between the shaft and the seal At the same time tighten the nuts of the pull rods(13) in 11 12 16 18 High pressure pump High pressure pipe Hudraulic nut Shaft Washer Oil nipple halves(6) and replace it by two of the locking washers Proceed in the same way with the other half 12 Do not disassemble the seal, but send it to Metso Paper for Sleeve Shaft Mounting of mechanical seal • A new seal should not be dismounted but be mounted as a unit At delivery it is equipped with six locking washers (I), tightened by screws to keep the sleeve with slide rings together in the seal housing These washers should not be removed before the seal has been pushed up on the shaft The seal is mounted on the shaftwith a press fit 11 12 16 18 High pressure pump High pressure pipe water hoses 13 Check that the seal is aligned with the shaft by mounting a dial indicator (Z) on the shaft and position the measuring end perpendicularly to the front of the seal Rotate on full turn 14 Check that the sleeve does not touch the front cover The gap should be 0.5 mm all round 15 Mount the rotor, see “Replacement of rotor”, and other equip ment ... care that the center spigot of the
