line scan imaging with the rugged In-Sight 5000 series to give a powerful new way to capture images The higher the resolution of the camera, the more of the clock that can be viewed at the same pixels per feature Section | Slide 24 Section | Slide 23 A 640x480 resolution camera can only show a portion of the clock A 1600x1200 camera can show more of the clock, because it can be moved further away (larger Field of View) A 2448x2048 camera can show the whole clock at the same pixels per feature, by moving it even further away (larger Field of View) The illustrations show a single object with the same pixels / feature, but the resolution is different on each What does this mean in vision tools? The more pixels per feature the more accurate your results will be Whether this is a gauging application, pattern location, or ID reading, think of accuracy in the sub micron level as opposed to mm This is why the document with the highest resolution (2448 X 2048) is the clearest of the three examples, and the document with the lowest resolution (640 X 480) is very difficult to read This illustration of the part (a clock) shows how three cameras of different resolution can obtain the same pixels per feature at increasing Fields of View What can a camera with more pixels for your application? - It can provide more pixels per feature for better accuracy (same FOV) - 640 X 480 – 2592 X 1944 - Range of 1X – 20X speed Image - Grayscale or Color Discrete Inputs and Outputs - Onboard and Expansion Models Vision Tools Included - All Vision tools - ID Only (bar code, 2D, OCR) - Optional PatMax Tool - Optional PatMax Redline Tool Pixels Speed Section | Slide 25 Section | Slide 26 The In-Sight Model CIO-1400 Expansion Module provides a convenient way to access the power, serial, trigger and high-speed output connections of the In-Sight 3400 and 5000 series sensors The expansion module also extends the capabilities by adding discrete inputs/outputs and hardware handshaking for serial communications - optically isolated trigger input - optically isolated discrete inputs - optically isolated discrete outputs (Maximum 30 VDC, 100 mA) - non-isolated discrete high speed outputs (Maximum 28 VDC, 200 mA) The Breakout Cable provides access to the vision system’s trigger and high speed outlets The breakout cable can be connected to devices, such as a PLC, trigger sensor or strobe light - high speed input (camera) trigger - high speed discrete outputs (3 inputs and outputs on 7000) - programmable LEDs - serial with no RTS/CTS (not with Micro) Section | Slide 27 The minimum firmware version for the CIO-Micro is In-Sight version 4.2.0 or later, and the minimum firmware version for the CIO-Micro-CC is In-Sight version 4.3.0 or later High Speed Outputs - In-Sight Micro series vision systems - optically isolated discrete outputs (Maximum 28 VDC, 200 mA) - In-Sight 5600 series vision systems - discrete (Maximum 28 VDC, 200 mA) These modules are compatible with the In-Sight Micro and 5600 series vision systems - Optically isolated trigger input - ON: 20 to 28V (24V nominal),
