Topic: in an essay of about 250 words, discuss the advantages and disadvantages that tourism may cause to the environment of a country In recent years, we have seen considerable rise in the number of tourists For many people, the promotion of tourism is a good opportunity to explore the World However, there are many pros and cons in this issue In this essay, I will discuss some of the reasons why tourism can influence on the environment of a country Let’s begin by looking at the advantages that tourism may bring to the social environment of a country First, the development of tourism can lead to a better quality of life for the local residents Building many tourism resorts would provide ample opportunities to find well –paid jobs, which eventually results in higher income and a reasonable quality of life For example, restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers, along with the expansion of travel industry, spring up more and more This example makes it clear why many employment chances are created and services for people are improved Second, travel industry would contribute to enhancing the local infrastructures An illustration here is that roads can be improved to reduce accidents and facilitate transportation, architectural works are able to be remodeled in order to attract visitors and drainage system will be more perfective On the other hand, there are many causes that are negative impacts on the environment First , many factors such as human activities, exploitation of natural resources and heavy traffic in the region which cause adverse influences on the environment this is likely to result in ecological imbalance For instance ,untreated sewage from nearby hotels and restaurants , litter louts on the beach pollute the water environment, which inevitably leads to marine animal death this will lead to disturb the ecological balance because each animal plays an important role in ecosystem On top of that, one of the serious disadvantages of the development of tourism is traditional cultural values, which are in danger of disappearance Take craft products as example, local artisans tend to modify their traditional designs to meet customer’s taste This may cause cultural erosion if it happens in the long term To sum up, tourism has both the benefits and the disadvantages In my opinion, I think the benefits still outweigh to the drawbacks
