LESSON PLAN Period 80 UNIT 13: HOBBIES Lesson 2: Speaking Date: 12/03/2009 I. Aims : Practise speaking skill II. Objectives: By the end of the lesson S.s will be able to : + Talk about a hobby. + Talk about collections. II. Skills : + Main skills : Speaking. + Sub skills : Writing. III. Teaching aids: handouts, pictures, posters… IV. Techniques: Communicative approach. V. Procedures: Stages/ Timing/ Focuses Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm-up : 6’ T – S.s S.s – S.s 2. Pre-speaking 9’ T – S.s S.s – S.s Game: Miming Game - Divide the class into 2 teams - Each team nominates one representative. - Write these activities in a piece of paper: *Swimming *Fishing *Stamp-collecting *Mountain-climbing *Playing computer games. *Reading books. *Watching TV - Ask each representative to mime some activities,and the members of his/her team have to guess what the activity is in turn.Which team has more correct answers will win the game. Lead-in: Do you often watch TV in your free time? How much time do you spend on it everyday? Activity 2: Role-play - Ask S.s to play the roles of Nam and Nga,who are talking about stamps collection, using the information on p.149. - Move around to control and give help if necessary. - Ask other S.s to give comments. - Give feedback. - Find someone who - Deliver handouts to each S.s.
